Posted May 10, 200520 yr comment_2075725 From the Torch: Chris Kreski, who was one of the original WWE writers who replaced Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara, died yesterday of cancer at age 42. Kreski did not have cancer when he worked for WWE. After he left the company, citing burn out and other opportunities, Stephanie McMahon replaced him as head writer in 2002. Kreski was head writer during WWE's best drawing period, credited with being a strong writer who also benefited from the table being set with top stars and a deep roster that was over. Kreski had previously written for Late Night with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Beavis & Butt-Headd, and Remote Control. After working for WWE, he was involved with the NFL Kickoff Concert (2003) and the MTV Movie Awards (2002). The Torch messed up, as we all know that Steph replaced him in late 2000. Sad news, especially due to the early death at the hands of cancer. One of the better writers the company had, as he was at least partly responsible for one of the best eras of the WWF.
May 10, 200520 yr comment_2075788 What made Kreski so good was that he paid attention to detail, which is a skill you almost never see in WWE, due to the obsession with getting immediate results.
May 11, 200520 yr comment_2076320 I assume he was responsible for the awesome love triangle angle that HHH ruined in 2000. If so he did a great job building that angle. Anytime someone dies that young it is sad.

May 11, 200520 yr comment_2076379 Kreski was probably responsible for the attention to detail in that angle, because he paid attention to that kind of thing. He had flow charts set up showing which wrestlers were feuding, and which ones had feuded, and if certain wrestlers couldn't team with other wrestlers because they had feuded in the past, etc. Nobody pays attention to the little things any more.
