Tiger Mask vs. Ultraman (WWF Junior Title) - This was a throwaway match. I think I am slowly coming around to your way of thinking on certain NJ Jrs tendencies. Stop trying to do matwork. Just fly around and do what Jrs are supposed to do. There was one point where Ultraman took Tiger Mask’s legs and wrapped himself in the legs. What the fuck was he thinking? It led to a cool surfboard thingie later on but it was nonsense. Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan - Holy fuck, the atmosphere in this was insane as well. Way too much standing around to start. I know that they were trying to establish that they are both strong as hell but pushing each other’s hands in their faces for 5 minutes isn’t that interesting. Hogan picking up Andre was more impressive than picking up Abby. Andre was not as active in this one as the Khan match so the match just seems to pale in comparison to the two monster matches I had already seen. Also, while I appreciate Andre’s efforts, the fall out fo the ring opff the clothesline just looked unnatural and led to a sad countout. I am leaning on the fence about to fall off. (Also, no blood in this one) Antonio Inoki vs. Scott McGhee - Blink and you’ll miss this match. July 6, 1982, Osaka Furitsu Gym Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan - Andre working over Hogan’s arm just didn’t do it for me. The crowd also wasn’t as nuclear so it seemed less important atmosphere wise. I don’t mind subdued crowds, I watch half my shit with no volume, but you could tell they were not into it as much as the last match. Things got wild outside the ring but not enough for a nomination. (No blood here either)
