Posted June 18, 200916 yr comment_5440879 Both of these guys were great at short, intense matches, and this was a good example. Vader started out trying to rush Hash, crowding him and using his girth to bull him around. But Hash adjusted, giving up his kicking game and instead using the proximity to trap Vader in submissions. After working that angle for a bit, he finally created his opening and started drilling the big man with his deadly feet. But of course, Kong was still dangerous, even when those airplanes were buzzing around his head. Vader lashed out with a desperation punch that rocked Hash. That gave him the opening he needed to hit two demolishing lariats for the win. That was it. Simple, short, brutal and a nomination. NJ Classics 341
August 16, 200916 yr comment_5442844 Hashimoto is one of the few guys who can go toe to toe with Vader and I don't have to suspend my disbelief to think he is actually causing harm to the big guy. After struggling to take an advantage, there are two points where Vader drills Hash to make him think twice about taking the match. The first was the spinning backfist that put Hash in the corner. A little while later, he hits a VAder block that sends Hash to the floor. Inside, Hash continues the work to the arm with his deadly kicks and has Vader on his knees. Fuck, how I miss Hashimoto's kicks. Hash is sent to regroup a third time after Vader clubs him with his massive arm. I enjoy Hash working over Vader's arm more than Inoki and I thought Inoki did it pretty well. This became a battle of what strategy would win out... Vader's brute force or Hashimoto's attack on the arm. The end run was fucking hot with me and the crowd thinking Hash might pull it off esp. after he kicked out of the first lariat. This was fucking choice and blows away most of what I have seen today... a true clash of the titans and slam dunk.
August 26, 200916 yr comment_5443366 Yeah this was some epic stuff, just a blow away violent brawl, and exactly what you want a big show main event to be. All of the arm work ruled, Vader was so great at selling but still being a killer and a monster. Loved this, this is my kind of wrestling.
