12/27/87 Yoshiaki Fujiwara/Kazuo Yamazaki vs. Nobuhiko Takada/Osamu Kido

- Opens up with Fujiwara going for a shoulderblock on Takada but instead, he decides to headbutt his jaw instead. Takada sells it like death. I like the role of punching bag for Takada.First Fujiwara manhandles him and then Yamazaki kicks the hell out of him. The mind game that Fujiwara is playing with Takada is great. Act like a chickenshit when he is in until he can brutalize him. Run to the corner and pop him when he isn’t even in the ring. Great stuff. Since everyone in this mat h loves to kick the holy hell out of each other, the real reason to move this forward is how each guy plays their roles. Fujiwara aas evil ringleader, Takada as whipping post, Yamazaki as weak link and Kido’s just kind of there. Not digging the countout ending although the capture suplex over the railing was an attempt at a cool visual. Still a nomination.

1/4/88 Antonio Inoki vs. Big Van Vader

- I like ass kicking Vader. Not trade arm bars with Inoki Vader. It picks up with Vader missing the shoulder block in the corner. After watching so many kickass matches today, this didn’t even get me to raise an eyebrow. Add a shitty ending and that seals the deal. I hope the other Vader-Inoki matches are better because this was such a letdown after watching some elite matches.
