Give this guy some cowboy boots and a black glove. Anyway, this mat hwas pretty bland. Seriously, I can’t think of anything of note that happened. Takano threw a nice enziguiri. Maybe the finishing Northern Lights? June 13, 1985 Andre the Giant & Tony St.Clair vs. Seiji Sakaguchi & Kantaro Hoshino - What a weird matchup. Hoshino has no business being in the ring with Andre but it might be fun. Natives cut St. Clair off from tagging Andre and you don’t blame them. When St. Clair makes the tag, the natives try to double team the Giant. Yep, Hoshino running from Andre was a blast. Hoshino rules. Andre and St. Clair were stuck in the corner so Hshino uses Sakaguchi as a battering ram, usually a position that Andre’s opponents find themselves in. Seriously, I think we may have found our NJ comedy nomination because Hoshino was awesome and Andre played the part of midget killer perfectly. Seriously, watch the cross body block at the end and then the destruction of Hoshino. Nomination. July 28, 1985 The Cobra vs. Hiro Saito - (WWF Junior title vs. NWA Junior Title) - Really disappointed that Cobra didn’t attack him immediately. I guess the blitzkrieg option failed him last time so he is playing it more reserved here. They work on the mat here with Cobra putting Saito in different holds but nothing that stands out. This felt more like two juniors killing time on the mat than any specific strategy for winning. The last match, Cobra came out on fire and you could tell his plan was to attack early and attack often. This time, they just trade holds on the mat until they jump to the plancha by Cobra to the outside. Then they pick it up for a hot run similar to the last match but the difference is in the beginning. Really disappointed since I was looking forward to this after the last match.
