Posted August 14, 200817 yr comment_5434036 Kerry Von Erich vs Kamala (Unsure of date) This is only six minutes, but they packed a lot into the time. Lots of back and forth and tons of struggle for all the offense. Kamala's dramatic overselling of all of Kerry's offense is great, and both guys are really laying their shots in. Kerry bodyslamming Kamala (for the third time) gets a huge pop. I would have loved a better finish than a countout, but I still think this is worth a nomination. If this does end up on the final set, the promo from Akbar following this match, where he again weasles out of paying Kerry the money he's offered to anyone who can slam Kamala, should also be included, because it puts the huge pop for the bodyslam in context. They also show a montage of the two previous times he has bodyslammed him and Akbar still hasn't coughed up the money. Romdam #1

Some cool stuff here, like Kamala trying work over a body part (for about five seconds, anyway), but overall, really preferred their '83 Christmas Star Wars bout, which had all the cool stuff from this match and then some. June 26, 200916 yr comment_5441179 What I wrote at the time: "This was one of those matches where I enjoyed it a lot, but I know there will be a rematch, and this is borderline enough that I'm inclined to hold off on nominating it to see if I don't get something better to go with. Really like when Kamala does "clever savage" shtick, and this was all about that. Being wary of the claw as always, plus a neat spot where he tricks Kerry into entering a test of strength only to chop him with his free hand after they start lock up, but Kerry blocks it and dropkicks him out of the ring." Well, I didn't see anything better between these two, so I am going to put it up and see where it goes.
