Brazo De Oro, Brazo De Plata 8/21/81 I remember this being super JIP on the Tiger Mask Collection, but we have 12 minutes of this match here. Still a bit of a mess, and I can’t even blame Sayama as the Brazos vs. Solitario sections weren’t much either. Still gives me some hope that other TM collection JIP matches might be more full on these discs. Tiger Toguchi v. Dick Murdoch 8/21/81 I really dug this, worked kind of like a Johnny Valentine match with both guys kind of exchanging really nasty punches and forearms kind of in a phone booth. Murdoch is totally awesome in this kind of match, and this is kind of the one thing Touchi does well. No real finish, and some moments of sloppiness, but I enjoyed this too much not to nominate it. Tatsumi Fujinami, Antonio Inoki v. Pete Roberts, Stan Hansen 8/21/81 Total cocktease, as this was gangbusters until it just ends in the middle of the match. Too bad we don’t have a classics version of this, because the Roberts/Hansen team was awesome Brazo De Oro v. Tiger Mask 8/28/81 Don’t remember if we got this much on the TM collection, this had a lot more grappling then the traditional Tiger Mask match, and a bunch of it was very cool. Oro was clearly awesome at this point and I would love to see his 80’s lucha work. His selling was cool here, as he made Tiger Mask’s kicks look brutal. Still individually cool things aside, this never really clicked as a match, and isn’t a disc selection. Stan Hansen, Pete Roberts, Bad News Allen v. Riki Choshu, Tatsumi Fujinami Seki Sakaguchi 8/28/81 Not as good as the tag that got cut off, some fun stuff including Hansen recklessly hurling chairs around and accidentally smacking Roberts in the head. Fun, but nothing set worthy. Dick Murdoch v. Antonio Inoki 8/28/81 This is your long Murdoch match, worked similarly to the Murdoch v. Reed and Windham matches, although as much as like Inoki he is no Butch Reed or Barry Windham. Really felt like this was on its way to a solid nomination, but the Strong Kobyashi and Ueda catfight finish really hurts this. I am going to go ahead and say no, although Will and Childs need to check it out and see if I am being to harsh based on the finish Andre v. Khan This is from the Cap Center, so it would be a WWF match, it was fun but not Errata worthy. Tiger Mask/Tatsumi Fujinami v. Pete Roberts/El Solitario 9/4/81 Already nominated this, it is in full on this disc and in good VQ so we might want to use this version. Don’t remember what it looked like on the Tiger Mask Collection Stan Hansen, Andre the Giant, Bad News Allen v. Antonio Inoki, Tiger Toguchi, Riki Choshu Andre is always fun in a match like this, and I loved Andre and Hansen brawling with each other, feels like that could be an extra for the Andre v. Hansen matches, not a nomination match though.
