How surreal. For the first few minutes of the match, Sid was rolling around on the mat with Fujinami acting like he was Stan Lane. In one particularly cool spot, Sid tried to do a kip-up but Fujinami held onto the head scissors so when Sid tries it later and succeeds, it feels like a major accomplishment. There are some major issues with this match though that will prevent it from making it on the set. First off, Sid drops Fujinami in a power bomb and then a brutal Guerrero spin and Fujinami just rolls out of the ring and shakes it off. Also, Sid looked lost half the time and his strikes were Lance Storm level bad. This match won't make the set but I wanted to nominate it so Phil knew that we located it and it is a match that caught me completely off guard (and enjoyed, flaws included) but ultimately isn't deserving on a set this strong. Still, Sid on the mat... not half bad.

Yeah, it was sort of stunning to see a green Sid in a match this good. The kip-up couplet was the highlight for me. I did't mind Fujinami shaking off Sid's power stuff after a break outside. The bigger flaw was that Sid didn't have enough stuff to build himself into a real threat to Fujinami. I watched a Fujinami/Vader match in the same sitting, and it served to highlight how not scary Sid was. This might make a good extra if we opt to include some gaijin oddities. But I wouldn't put it on the set proper.
