This was a challenge series. Would've been better as an elimination or gauntlet match.

7/28/89 Osamu Kido vs. Manny Fernandez - Another disappointing NJ outing for the Bull.

7/28/89 Kengo Kimura vs. Mike Hart - Decent match-up of smaller striker vs. burly wrestler. I liked Hart catching Kimura off the top into a powerslam for the win. But nothing setworthy.

7/28/89 Masa Saito vs. Buzz Sawyer - Buzz took some filthy suplexes from Saito. Again, nothing too noteworthy.

7/28/89 Hiroshi Hase vs. Dick Murdoch - Good little match here as they moved from working holds early to trading some vicious shots. Murdoch dialed it up with his trademark elbows to the face. He then did a lovely job eating Hase's offense. They might have had a great match in them, but this didn't build enough to reach nomination level.

7/28/89 Riki Choshu vs. Big Van Vader - Pretty typical example of this match-up. They blasted each other, both in the middle of the ring and around ringside. I liked the ending of Choshu nailing Vader on the apron to keep him from beating the count. But this didn't have the blood or signature moments to put it with the best from these guys.
