Posted October 14, 200915 yr comment_5445117 Probably my all-time favourite lucha match and a good chance to finish as No.1 on my own ballot. Starts off with Satanico as a classic rudo challenger and builds through the second and third fall to the point where it doesn't matter that one guy is a rudo and the other a technico. Epic title match. Easily the best title match available from the 80s footage and likely Satanico's greatest performance. He could've turned technico on the basis of this match. That's how good the final two falls are.
March 28, 201114 yr comment_5468522 This really was tremendous, the early matwork especially was some of the best stuff I have seen,it isn't as fancy as the Solar/Navarro stuff, but the struggle and fight in everything they did was great. Satanico was amazing of course, but this really made me want to see more Cochisse too. I don't know if I will end up putting this ahead of some of the really bloody hair matches, but I can't imagine it dropping out of a top 5. Classic Lucha From the 80's Vol 4
December 14, 201113 yr comment_5490171 I'll actually take the Cochisse praise a step further and say I thought he actually looked like the better guy in this match, and not for a lack of effort on Satanico's part, either. I don't see myself rating it as high as Phil or OJ, but it's a phenomenal lucha title match, with all the style entails, courtesy of all-time great Satanico and criminally underlooked Cochisse. Easy inclusion.

July 8, 201213 yr comment_5509637 NWA Middleweight Title: Gran Cochise © vs. Satanico (9/14/84) What else can be said about this one as it's one of the greatest matches of the decade in Mexico and the world in general. This isn't a bloodbath or a violent hate filled brawl but what it is is two guys who have a classic wrestling match trying to see who is the better man by using their skills. The match had an All-Japan epic feel by the end where the crowd didn't give a shit who won really because they were watching greatness and both were winners. Satanico showed here why he was one of the greatest of his era and Cochise maybe looked even better here and definitely made me wish we had more of him in big singles matches. This won't be my #1 probably but I don't think there is any way it won't be in my Top 5.
