Posted October 14, 200915 yr comment_5445125 I don't think Mark Rocco was the best World of Sport worker by any stretch of the imagination, but this by far the best Adams match so far. The fact that Adams still sucked in the best match he's had so far is something to bear in mind. This was classic, all-action Mark Rocco. The complete opposite of the Gil Singh/Steele. Short, fast paced and plenty of heat. People love this shit, so I guess it'll make the set.
October 14, 200915 yr comment_5445128 How did Adams suck here? This is probably the "least traditional" WoS match I've seen not involving a gimmicky wrestler but I thought both guys were great and worked well together.
October 15, 200915 yr Author comment_5445139 I don't think Adams bumped well for Rocco and his offence was as poor as ever. My point of reference for Adams is the other ex-judo guys -- Pat Roach, Ringo Rigsby and Pete Roberts -- and Adams was so far below those guys. I also have Rocco/Jones in the back of my mind, since that was the single best match-up Rocco had in the UK. It was the best Adams match I've seen, though. Finlay looks good in his TV debut against Adams and Bobby Barnes looked good against Adams, but Adams himself has yet to impress. I've never seen his World Class stuff, so I don't know if I'd appreciate him more if I knew he become a better worker later on.
March 3, 201114 yr comment_5466552 Mark Rocco vs. Chris Adams (9/29/81) - Adams seemed a little out of rhythm with Rocco at the beginning, but that got better as the match went on. I liked the way they slowed down and worked a more rugged style in the later rounds. This is an easy choice for the set given the names involved and the sustained action. WOS V2 3
