Kevin, JYD, Adams, & Strongbow vs. Hayes, Roberts, Garvin & Khan

 

Sure we get Kahn and Kevin tossed out, but we still have a damn good bout. I loved the heels top level stooging early on. The heel team was on fire. Adams and Strongbow were good in their roles. Strongbow could have been better in his FIP role. Loved how none of the heels wanted to tag in to fight the dog. Their are better 6 mans that are on the set, but this is a damn good one that doesn't invole the V.E. Nomination.

"Gentleman" Chris Adams, Junkyard Dog, Jules Strongbow, & Kevin Von Erich vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin, Michael Hayes, Killer Khan, & Buddy Roberts (5/28/84)

 

This has quite the WAR feel to it in the pairings. Kevin & Khan get eliminated immediately because they couldn't quit fighting so it quickly becomes a six-man. It's funny watching the Freebirds trying to tell Khan what's going on without Khan's personal translator in Gordy around. This may be the best I've ever seen Jules Strongbow look because the heels here are like shoe said top level stooging bumping heels which Jules never had in WWF. I also really love the interactions between the Birds & JYD calling back to their mega feud 3-4 years ago and the heels scrambling away as Hayes went for the tag before Buddy reluctantly tagged in. Adams & Garvin are awesome against each other of course and Adams lights up Hayes with a Superkick as he tried to help Garvin. Jules was pretty good as the FIP here and Adams was great getting the hot tag hitting 3 Superkicks on all the heels ala Dusty. Stella Mae woulld show up and hit Garvin allowing Adams to drop him with the Superkick to get the win. I fucking loved all of this and this is a definite nomination.

Kevin and Khan get out of hand early on and are tossed out of the match. Sadly, this is the highlight of the bout - specifically Hayes desperate attempts to get the rubber-faced Khan to understand the situation without the aid of "great communicator" Gordy. That being said, the rest of the match is really good, and I did consider nominating it. I said "no" at the time, but if both of you guys felt it was worthy of inclusion, I'll go ahead and back you up on it. This goes forward.
