I was digging this up until the hairy Nikita rip off came in and Maggs botched a leap frog and ran out threw the ropes from his own momentum I guess. The finish sucked also as everyone looked lost. Highlights Of Brian Lee And Dirty White Boy Brawling From Last Week Interview w/ Ron Wright Interview w/ Paul Orndorff, Hector Guerrero, And Dixie Dy-no-mite Paul Orndorff vs. Hector Guerrero (Heavyweight Title Tournament Wild Card Elimination Match) (Orndorff Piledrives 4 People After The Match) - Orndorff goes nuts. Really fun match but not a nomination. The Heavenly Bodies vs. The Batten Twins (First Round Of The Tag Team Title Tournament) - Might be an extra just for being the Bodies first TV match. Fun match with the Bodies using a double suplex/slam to win the match. Interview w/ Ivan Koloff And Vladimir Koloff Interview w/ Bob Armstrong v Interview w/ Tim Horner, The Fantastics, And Brian Lee SMW never ran Chattanooga so it's funny that they do a local promo for there. The Koloff's vs. Danny Davis/Joey Maggs (First Round Of The Tag Team Title Tournament) Opening exchange was actually shockingly excellent as it was sort of a sequence dependent on quickness and Ivan Koloff is not the guy you expect to be getting down for the Maggs crossbody airball for example. Nice monkey flip into a roll up exchange with Ivan and Danny Davis. Really dug Vlad blocking a headscissors attempt by Maggs with a backbreaker. Then Maggs took a pretty wild bump to the floor. Maggs plays a nice FIP for the most part. I dug Ivan clawing at his face and he took a double clothesline better than most. Hot tag was well built to and didn't seem to come early which is a common problem I see with a lot of tv tags. Faces get an upset when the Fantastics get involved. I actually liked this a good bit for what it was. Highlights Of Brian Lee And Dirty White Boy Brawling From Last Week Interview w/ Ron Wright He's got DWB in training "stomping dogs." Interview w/ Paul Orndorff, Hector Guerrero, And Dixie Dy-no-mite Holy shit this is a random as fuck group of people to be bunched in one promo. Hector is just terrible. Orndorff basically turns full blown heel with this promo. Orndorff was actually really great here and Hector challenging him was kind of awesome. EXTRA Paul Orndorff vs. Hector Guerrero (Heavyweight Title Tournament Wild Card Elimination Match) (Orndorff Piledrives 4 People After The Match) Hector wildly rolling at Orndorff as he tries to take his robe off is fucking hilariously awesome. Fun stuff with Hector getting taken down by escaping a ride, et. Hector does his flip over the back body drop attempt and hits a nice roll up for a nearfall with Orndorff going absolutely insane claiming his trunks were pulled and flopping around like a fool when he kicks out. Orndorff comes back with some punches in the corner. Hector tries to hit a sunset flip but Paul punches him in the face. Hector tries to break up a front facelock by stomping on Paul's toes which is awesome. Hector is pitched to the floor but lands on his feet. He is staring out into the crowd looking pissed so Paul stomps on his fingers which is equally awesome. Orndorff hits a pretty nice dropkick of all things and goes for a second but Hector holds onto the ropes and Paul face plants. Hector's offensive run was not as flashy until he hit a crossbody with Paul rolling through for the pin with a handful of trunks. Post-match Orndorff piledrives Hector, Ben Jordan, Reno Riggins, and Joey Maggs. Even without the post-match stuff this feels like the most "complete" tv match so far as it had a good set up, some neat work, and I really think Orndorff might have been at his best in SMW. The Heavenly Bodies vs. The Batten Twins (First Round Of The Tag Team Title Tournament) Some very fun rope running/highspot stuff early with the Bodies reeling and nice double teams from the Battens. Naturally the Bodies take over, cut off the ring and work all the heel tricks you would expect. Pritchard takes a huge bump off of a diving clothesline that sets up the hot tag. This was a pretty good match and I liked the finish fine, but it is more EXTRA material than a nomination. Interview w/ Dutch Mantell, Jimmy Golden, And Ron Wright Interview w/ Jim Cornette And The Heavenly Bodies This is the Bodies first promo and should be an EXTRA. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Robert Gibson vs. Rip Rogers The number of rope running spot in the beginning of this is insane. Rogers was fun in this and took Gibson's bulldog better than most. Highlights Of Paul Orndorff Piledriving Wrestlers Last Week Promo By Hector Guerrero Hector is in a neck brace. Interview w/ Paul Orndorff. Bob Armstrong Interrupts Him And Fines Him $2,500 Dollars This is a good segment. Interview w/ Tim Horner Interview w/ Brian Lee Paul Orndorff vs. Davey Rich Orndorff is really great reacting to the babyface offense in this which makes things interesting. Orndorff pitching Rich to the floor after being fed up with his shit seemed appropriately contempt filled. Rich took a sweet twisting bump off of a clothesline and then Orndorff signals for the piledriver but just pins him instead. Another good Orndorff showing, though not anything anyone would need to go out of their way to see. Interview w/ Ron Wright Yet another good Wright promo. Promo By Danny Davis And Joey Maggs Interview w/ Jim Cornette And The Heavenly Bodies Stan Lane complains of mass sexual harassment which is hysterical. Buddy Landell vs. Reno Riggins God damn Landell sells punches better than any wrestler ever. Riggins hits a handspring elbow of all things. Landell takes a great over the top bump and tries to post Buddy but gets shoved hard into the steel. Landell fucking murders Riggins with a chop and some sick punches. Budro's blatant hair pulling on the takedowns and banter with Mark Curtis was a lot of fun. Buddy is hysterical with his cheating here. Landell hits his corkscrew elbow and a figure-four for the finish. This was a lot of fun. Interview w/ Buddy Landell Good promo Dixie Dy-no-mite vs. Carl Stiles (Heavyweight Title Wild Card Elimination Match) Decent enough match. Dixie looked a lot better here than he did in his debut.
