I don't know if Vince's views on immigration line up with Trump's. A Vince campaign arguing that we should stop calling the flag "Old Glory" because it makes America seem dated would be fun, though.

Couldn't win an election to save her life but Linda McMahon is now officially part of the Trump administration.

How many people even knew the SBA existed until Linda started getting her name floated for it? She seems like a pretty good pick between her experience watching WWE grow into what it is today and her prior experience navigating the political minefield in her senate runs. She's also pretty active supporting women in leadership positions. Aside from the lolwrestling thing this pick does not deserve the ridicule it's gotten.

Well it would be interesting since she trumpets her role in growing the company if it came out how they kneecapped JCP by strongarming the cable companies into not airing their PPVs at the risk of not getting access to Wrestlemania.

She donated a ton of money and was given a position without prior qualifications in an administration run by a guy who claimed he was going to "drain the swamp" of lobbyists and financial interests.

I've always found it pretty incredible that while Trump only follows something like 43 people on his Twitter feed, Vince is one of them. As the old saying goes: it takes a roast beef-scarfing narcissist to RT another roast beef-scarfing narcissist.

 

Will be interesting to see how NBC Universal/Comcast covers the story. So far its completely absent fron MSNBC.com, but that may just be on account of it being a terrible website that's largely relocated its reporting to Twitter (where Linda was trending as the top US story this afternoon). NBC News' only mention seems to be within a top story titled "Trump's Cabinet Picks Have a Combined Wealth of $14.5B. How Did They All Make Their Money?", in which Linda is the last of the team listed:

I think so, but I'm not sure. If so, I think she'd have an easier time than some people. I know that her democratic opponent for senate in CT has come forward saying she's not a terrible choice, basically.

The going line from Linda supporters (even the ones that was in elections against her) is "well look what happened to the WWE. If she can do that for them then how is this not a bad thing". I mean when was the WWF ever considered a "small business". But besides that, how much of their success was actually because of Linda McMahon.

Well she did tip off Pat Patterson that George Zahorian was "hot", which helped Vince beat the steroid rap. That helped their success a lot.
