Posted November 9, 200916 yr comment_5445727 AJPW G+ Classics #57 1. Umanoseke Ueda vs. Giant Baba (3/3/83) This was OK. Ueda mixing it up with Tenryu on the outside was more fun than the match itself. 2. Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Tiger Jeet Singh (3/3/83) This was pretty OK, not as bad as most Singh matches I've seen. There were some pretty cool spots with Jumbo trying to backdrop Singh and Singh blocking. Only goes about 12 minutes and doesn't really go anywhere. 3. Kerry Von Erich "Eye of the Tiger" video This pretty much should be included as Kerry rides a horse in short shorts and tube socks in slow motion. 4. Genichiro Tenryu vs. Kerry Von Erich (4/7/83) This was real fun, starting off with a bunch of claw teases and both guys socking the other. Eventually builds to Tenryu stomping on Kerry's claw hand and the crowd going nuts, and me going nuts, as how the hell will Kerry be able to apple the claw? Well like a minute later Kerry applies the claw just fine with the hand that got stomped and Tenryu gets counted out. That being said, this was 11 fun minutes. MILD NOMINATION. 5. Terry Funk/Ted Dibiase vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Giant Baba (4/7/83) This was decent but not great, and pretty forgettable in the grand scheme of things. For 4 big names, it was a match that as soon as it was over I went "What the hell happened those last 12 minutes." I just forgot everything about it. And I was entertained as it was going on, just....gone. 6. Stan Hansen vs. Terry Funk (4/14/83) This is about as much of a slam dunk nomination as you can get. Two motherfuckers who define the word "hoss", just beating the blood out of each other non-stop. This is the kind of match that has finished #1 in other 80s sets. Hansen works so freaking stiff here, just kicking Terry right in the head and there is nothing to dislike about this. HUGE NOMINATION.
