Two motherfuckers who define the word "hoss", just beating the blood out of each other non-stop. This is the kind of match that has finished #1 in other 80s sets. Hansen works so freaking stiff here, just kicking Terry right in the head and there is nothing to dislike about this. HUGE NOMINATION. (AJC G+ 57)
June 6, 201015 yr comment_5451670 You'd be hard-pressed to find two guys in wrestling history who were better at this kind of match. Hansen never stopped coming and Terry never stopped finding interesting ways to either fend him off or eat his brutal offense. As for memorable moments, Hansen trying to lynch a bloody Funk will rank pretty high on this set. This is an easy yes.
June 21, 201015 yr comment_5452184 Stan Hansen vs. Terry Funk, 4/14/83 (G+57) - Early on, both guys playing mind games with Hansen slapping Funk, Funk getting some shots in and slapping Hansen. Love the spot where Funk falls through the ropes and Hansen keeps pounding him. Once inside, Hansen is beating the shit out of Funk. If there is one headlock in this match, I would be disappointed. Funk makes a comeback, first by grabbing the leg, pulling Hansen outside and kicking him into the barricade. Inside, Funk gets a bodyslam but Hansen regains control and puts on the headlock . It didn’t last long as Funk gives him a backdrop suplex. Funk tries to weaken the leg but Hansen punches him in the face to break Funk’s spinning toe hold. Good stuff. Fuck, these kicks, punches, slaps, chops, all good shit. Now, Funk is busted open but he doesn’t give a shit, he keeps going for the spinning toe hold. Hansen finally breaks the last one with fucking kicks to the face. The ref gets bumped so Hansen takes the opportunity to crotch Funk on the top rope. Now, Hansen is outside, choking Funk with his rope. Fuck WWE… choking is pro wrestling. God, Funk looks sick. The whole package is just awesome. Dory coming in the ring with a tie is awesome. This will be high on my list, somewhere in my Top 20 for sure.
July 20, 201015 yr comment_5453340 I thought this bout was pretty amazing. Their are alot of neat things going on here. Within the 1st minute Funk's chest is just hamburger meat. Another cool visual was Funk standing over Hansen and just bleeds all over Hansen's chest. That was jsut nasty and really put an exclamation point on the fight. Again this was just super stiff with Funk taking a sick beating, but still having some great hope spots attacking Stan's knee and leg area. The hanging and post match just put this over the top as top of the line pick.
