My new favorite Tiger Jeet match. Choshu bladed big-time at the opening bell and that set up the simple but effective story of him trying to rally while Singh worked the cut, choked him and hit him with objects. Choshu, of course, fought back with fury and got the crowd hyped. I expected the non-finish. At least it involved Choshu refusing to stop choking Singh with an electrical cord. Cool post-match visual as well when Choshu got Singh in the scorpion, wiping blood from his eyes the whole time. This probably needed a few more minutes to be a slam dunk. But I liked it enough to throw it up for consideration.

Tiger Jeet Singh vs. Riki Choshu, 6/15/85

- Singh comes out and I immediately want to fast forward this shit. Sheik attacks Choshu at the start with his sword, and Choshu is bleeding before the match even gets in the ring. Next, Singh attacks him with the bell hammer and starts biting him. Ok, so for the first three minutes, I have been enjoying a TJS match. Hell, he even semi-sells a Choshu lariat and Choshu is kicking the shit out of him in the corner. Nice set-up spot as Singh ends up in a position where Choshu can rack him on the ringpost and work on the leg to set up the Scorpion. Damn, I would enjoy this match so much more if Singh could just sell for 10 freaking seconds. He shouldn’t even be walking. Both guys end up choking each other and getting counted out. ON the TJS scale, this is the best match I have ever seen him in. On the Best of the 80s scale, I am going to have to pass. No vote.

Riki Choshu vs. Tiger Jeet Singh (6/5/85)

This is an interesting matchup and I love Choshu attacking Singh with flowers before the match. Singh would jump Choshu on the floor and he would use his sword on Choshu's head causing him to juice pretty heavy. Singh works over the cut and Choshu's face is just covered as the fans are hot and heavy for Choshu. Choshu hits a lariat getting the crowd really hot then he goes off on Singh before wrapping his left leg around the ringpost twice. Singh would fire back using a camera but also doesn't sell his leg being wrapped around the post which sucked. The battle would then go back to the floor with Choshu choking out Singh with a cord then shoving away Joe Higuchi who would call for the bell. This was a really fun brawl but the one thing that really kills it as a nomination for me is Singh just blatantly no-selling his leg. Not a nomination.
