Posted November 28, 200915 yr comment_5446069 Good TV main event with lots of heat and intriguing match-ups but no real conclusion. Choshu's crew did a higher end version of their wolfpack schtick. Jumbo seemed fired up. Okuma was running around and butting people in the face. Thoroughly entertaining shit. The run-in was really random, and this might not stand out in the end. But I enjoyed it enough that I at least want Eric to take a look. Ginnetty 1985 TV Disc 14
September 17, 201015 yr comment_5455817 Jumbo Tsuruta, Genichiro Tenryu & Okuma vs. Riki Choshu, Toshiaki Yatsu & Higo Hamaguchi, 6/22/85 - Pretty solid 6-man. Okuma looks like he could be a fun fat man to watch but didn’t really give any memorable moments here. Minus some points to the shake that overwhelmed the tape on this one and I am going to give it a lukewarm nomination.
September 29, 201015 yr comment_5456407 Animal Hamaguchi, Riki Choshu, & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Motoshi Okuma, Genichiro Tenryu, & Jumbo Tsuruta (6/2/85) Korakuen is already hot during the intros so this should be fun. Choshu & Jumbo start off against each other and it gets even hotter as this is the matchup the fans want to see. We get some good fast paced action to start then Tenryu slaps Choshu in the face with Choshu demanding to enter the ring and that kicks up the violence here. I've watched a lot of these random Choshu vs. AJ 6-mans lately that were just okay but this one was different as you had way more emotion and a guy like Okuma who was stepping his game up here at Korakuen throwing some great headbutts and reminding me of Arashi some 20 years later but a fun lumpy fat guy. Tenryu really botched a powerbomb here but it didn't matter because it started up a hot stretch run where everyone started brawling before Ashura Hara showed up to brawl with everyone for a no contest finish. This was wild fun stuff and I think it moves forward.
