Posted December 13, 200915 yr comment_5446374 DVD #23 10/5/85 Kobayashi/Nakano vs. Mascaras/Crews - At least Mil showed a little fire after they tried to rip his mask. But his big dive looked terribly off, and Kobayashi and Honaga are a boring ass tag team. Choshu vs. Hara - This started as a promising brawl with Choshu pumped to get his hands on Hara. But it eded up being more about Kimura's interference. Too bad. Jumbo/Tenryu vs. Gordy/Robinson (end cut off) - This looked intriguing as hell on paper but was only interesting in patches. Robinson punishing Tenryu was the highlight. Then, the episode cut off. 10/12/85 Ishikawa/Tiger Mask/Inoue vs. Kobayashi/Teranishi/Nakano - Should Misawa's general shittiness in the Tiger Mask role be held against him in historical rankings? I guess he was thrust into a poor role for him, so maybe Baba was to blame. Jumbo/Tenryu vs. Mascaras/Crews - Both natives worked well with Masacaras but I never got the sense that this match mattered a whole lot to those involved. Just a way to pass the time. Choshu/Yatsu vs. Hara/Kimura - Some good straight-up violence to start, but it never hit another gear and ended with a generic double countout. These episodes are bumming me out.
