Posted December 18, 200916 yr comment_5446499 DVD #27 11/30/85 Jumbo/Tenryu vs. Choshu/Yatsu - Strong tag match. Everything here looked contested and vicious. Choshu and Tenryu had a great early exchage in which they rolled to the ground, slapping and pulling hair. Jumbo smacked the hell out of Yatsu while holding him in a leglock. Yatsu was great from the apron, popping in to add punishment whenever Choshu had Tenryu locked up. Cool moment when Jumbo busted in to break up the scorpion only for Choshu to pre-empt him with a lariat. When Jumbo finally took the hot tag, he about took Yatsu's head off with two lariats. I guess the time-limit draw was the only bummer, but this struck me as a no-brainer regardless. Hansen/Dibiase vs. Race/Jesse Barr - This was a lot of fun while it lasted, but it only went about seven minutes. Hansen's lariat on Barr was hellacious. Tiger Mask/Inoue vs. Bulldogs - Only a few minutes aired before the episode ended. 12/7/85 Baba/Dory/Okuma vs. Kimura/Hara/Fuchi - Don't know why they wasted time showing a clip of this in the middle of the RWTL. Choshu/Yatsu vs. Race/Barr - Previous Race/Choshu confrontations bored me, but they really got after each other here. Riki blasted Harley in the face the first time he tagged in, and the match ended with them killing each other (and the ref) with a chair. I've enjoyed Barr. He worked some slick little mat exchanges, and both he and Race made the natives look good with their bumping. The messy finish might keep this off the set, but it's at least worth a look from the whole panel. Hansen/Dibiase vs. Bockwinkel/Hennig - I enjoyed Henning as a high flying underdog type. He also ate a gnarly western lariat at the finish. Actually, the whole match was pretty spirited, but it ended too abruptly with Hansen taking out the ref. Jumbo/Tenryu vs. Bulldogs - I need to watch this on Classics, because the finish was cut off here.
