Choshu and Tenryu had a great early exchage in which they rolled to the ground, slapping and pulling hair. Jumbo smacked the hell out of Yatsu while holding him in a leglock. Yatsu was great from the apron, popping in to add punishment whenever Choshu had Tenryu locked up. Cool moment when Jumbo busted in to break up the scorpion only for Choshu to pre-empt him with a lariat. When Jumbo finally took the hot tag, he about took Yatsu's head off with two lariats. I guess the time-limit draw was the only bummer, but this struck me as a no-brainer regardless. Ginnetty 1985 TV Disc 27
September 17, 201015 yr comment_5455819 Jumbo/Tenryu vs. Choshu/Yatsu, 11/30/85 (G+ 85) - The thing that stood out for me here is that even though they went to the draw, it didn’t feel like they were working for the draw. In the middle of the match, there was a point where Jumbo and Tenryu had Yatsu grounded and were working holds trying to damage his legs and back but that may be the only lull. However, the work was still good including Yatsu trying to escape only to be hammered down by Jumbo. Shit like that gets bonus points from me. I love the spot where Choshu struggles to turn Tenryu into the Scorpion so Yatsu comes off the top to soften him up. Damn, that ending once Jumbo was tagged in was hot. Of course this goes on and feels like a strong Top 40 match.
October 2, 201014 yr comment_5456510 Real World Tag League: Riki Choshu & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Genichiro Tenryu & Jumbo Tsuruta (11/30/85) Yeah they worked to a draw but it didn't seem like it here as they were working their normal great match it seemed between them around this time. These teams were just churning out the great matches in this timespan. Definite nomination.
