January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446952 Just one little thing to add... I don't think we should sleep on the hilarity of TNA's first match in this new "era" taking place inside a cage that you can't see through.
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446954 My buddy Art sent me this It's been revealed that Jeff failed his 3rd drug test 2 weeks before Summerslam, but wasn't fired because he was leaving anyway. But due to the terms of the Wellness Policy, WWE can't rehire him for a year. Where'd he get that? He told me a WWE wrestler told him that so who knows.
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446959 My first impression watching TNA last night was, even if the whole Homicide getting stuck ordeal hadn't happened, that the whole cage setup looked like it was made by Fisher Price. The second thing I realized right after was "how the fuck is anyone supposed to climb up and over to that opening?".
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446960 The only source I can find for the "Jeff failed a third test" story is something called The Bleacher Report which says the news came from Matt on his pay-per-view webcast, The Hardy Show. Somehow I doubt Matt would be dumb enough to publicly disclose that information unless he wants to be fired so he can go to TNA.
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446961 I just finished watching RAW off my DVR, the first time I've watched a complete WWE show in more than six months. I thought Orton/Kofi had a good match, and enjoyed the 4-way match. The rest was completely skippable to me. The Bret/Vince confrontation just made Bret look stupid.
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446964 He only signed a short-term contract. It's also apparently a tentative one. Both facts I didn't realize when I made that dumb comment. Tentative meaning that it's per appearance, or so I hear. I'm not surprised at the 1.5 rating. As I said before, TNA had an opportunity for WWE fans to check out the show before RAW and/or during commercials, plus they weren't going to lose their diehards.
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446970 So, in summation...meet the new Monday Night Wars, same as the old Monday Night Wars, except everyone is ten years older and ten years less interesting? Reading the Tokyo Dome results, it sure seemed weird to see Terry Funk and Abdullah the Butcher working for New Japan in any decade, let alone in 2010. Sadly, these are the old guys I would actually want to see. Incidentally, doesn't this mean that Abby is now part of the "Seven Decade Club" with Lou Thesz, Cavernario Galindo, and Mae Young?
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446974 Abby debuted in 1958 so yeah, he's wrestled in 7 decades. Funk (1965 debut) has now wrestled in 6. I don't think Mae will end up with 8 unless they put her in a match that involves no physical activity.
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446975 Doesn't Moolah count in the 7 Decade club? She debuted in 1949 and her last match, if memory serves, was in 2003.
January 6, 201015 yr comment_5446987 I don't think Mae will end up with 8 unless they put her in a match that involves no physical activity.Meltzer said she debuted in 1939, so she's already at 8, so she would be going for 9 if WWE gave her an easy enough match.
January 7, 201015 yr comment_5446992 TNA is really turning into the South Park version of Pro Wrestling with all the talking and personal politics
January 7, 201015 yr comment_5446996 I was curious to see how the two shows would end up being like. Reading the reports, I won't even bother watching any of them I think.
January 14, 201015 yr comment_5447087 I watched the Angle/Styles match. Seeing Angle do all of the crazy things he did made me cringe and expect him to suddenly stop moving. Hell, just watching him struggle to get to his feet made of think of Mickey Mantle in the 60's.
January 14, 201015 yr comment_5447093 I've been watching Impact off my DVR, the segment involving Hogan, Hall, Nash, and Syxx Pac (that's what TNA calls him, right?) was making me cringe. And you just know that, with Russo booking, it's gonna come to head at the next TNA PPV when they're attacking a babyface and Hogan comes to save and does the shocking swerve. So far, the only thing I can really compliment is the Knockouts Tag Titles match.
