Posted January 5, 201015 yr comment_5446889 Well, for as much complaining and bitching as I did about Koshinaka on the New Japan set, he was flat out excellent here. This is a great hair match let done only by the muddled DQ finish at the end. The selling and pacing are fantastic and there's a lot of details (many of them from Koshinaka) that you just don't see in lucha hair matches anymore. Koshinaka impressed me with how well he adapted to this style of match and completely carried his own despite working with one of the great hair match workers of all-time. Didn't feel like a carry to me at all. Lengthy review here -- http://prowrestlingonly.com/blog/ohtani_s_...p?showentry=253
July 14, 201015 yr comment_5453151 Caballera contra Caballera: Satanico vs. Samurai Shiro Koshinaka (7/30/84) Satanico cuts a promo before the match surrounded by his fans vowing to defeat the evil Japanese and take his hair so Kosh attacks him as soon as he gets on the apron. Kosh works over Satanico's left arm hard early on before getting him with a backslide to take the first fall. Kosh continued to work over Satanico to start the next fall until Satanico threw him off the top rope forcing him to the floor where he would take control. Satanico posted him a few times before bringing him back to the ring where he would cradle him for the pin to even the falls. The third fall had some good brawling with both men juicing after some back and forth action where it looked like that any one of them could win. The finish was a little screwy though as after both men got close nearfalls, Shiro punched Satanico in the balls as he had him in the air for a bodyslam and was DQed. Kosh whined after the match and even attacked Satanico after the match but he still got shaved. This was very fun and defintely moves forward.
March 23, 201114 yr comment_5468151 One of the most well know lucha matches from the 80's, a hair match between Koshinaka and Satanico. First fall is pretty one sided Koshinaka as he jumps Satanico at the bell and overwhelms him, second fall is all Satanico as he posts Shiro and makes him bleed. Third fall is more back and forth with both guys bleeding and a bunch of near falls. Finish is a little BS with Satanico faking a foul to take Shiro's hair. I don't think this is going to finish high on my ballot, although it is something that should make a set. Bob Barnetty Arena Mexico 80's 2
June 27, 201213 yr comment_5508267 Haven't watched this in a few years. The 80's NJ set soured me on Koshinaka, and I wasn't blown away by him here, but he looked good, generally held my interest, and did some cool-looking stuff. He gets some nice height on the butt butt, has a cool top rope kneedrop, ate the post well, bled to my satisfaction, etc. Still, Satanico kinda smokes him when he takes over, and I ended up wishing he get more time on offense. But I gotta review the match I saw, not the one I wanted to see, and the match I saw was still pretty damn great. This moves forward.
