Realized I picked up the wrong Slaughter-Wahoo (the right one is on a JCP tape). Sent an email to see if he'll hold the right one for next time (if he has it anyway), work out a way to get it before the next bulk, or provide a copy of his DVD if he sold the tape already.

Also, he found A1505 and included it.

Holy shit, one of the throw-ins, a Florida '85 tape, has the Freebirds vs The Pretty Young Things & Jack Hart.

Another throw-in is a SECW '81 tape that I've never seen anywhere and has guys like Orndorff, Saito, Lane, and Robert Gibson on top of the usual SECW suspects. Never seen this stuff listed anywhere.

It looks like he has a lot of cool stuff he never sorted.

From John or elsewhere? I know he never had the SECW listed (first match is Robert Gibson vs Stan Lane, Ken Lucas is new SE champion). Not sure about the CWF.

Extras also include what look like original off-air WWF '84-'85 (including the full 8/84 MSG) and AWA '85-'86, WCCW '85 almost at that level, and PM Film ICW that has a little bit of stuff stuff that I haven't seen and isn't in the catalog, like Lawler/Savage vs Gilbert/Sharpe falls count anywhere from Lexingon (very bad lighting, so maybe Ron only sold it to some people and didn't wanna list it).

The tape with the weird Japanese matches was 1 for 2. Bockwinkel/Thesz vs Sakaguchi/Fujiwara was actually an IWE match as I expected, vs Rusher and someone. Not sure if it's on the IWE comm DVD set but I would guess that it is. Inoki/Baba vs Dromo/Mascaras is legit, several minutes of clips, VQ isn't too hot but it's watchable and a very cool rarity. The Dusty-Graham Houston match on that tape has a lot of chroma issues so I'll probably convert it in black & white, where it should look fine.

For the most part though, the VQ I've checked so far is fine and in line w/ how he rated it. The '79 Texas tape is soft, but not noisy at all, pretty nice.

Well, that was disappointing. One fall and pretty much everything of note has been in Dundee music videos. No cool Dundee "king of the scaffold" spots, as it's pretty much stalling -> powder in eyes -> tame struggle on side -> Dundee gets the bullwhip and whips Dutch off the scaffold. Announced time was 8:50.

At least we have Lawler/Ware vs Eaton/Sabu. If it's as good as the other famous Memphis brawls, it should be pretty rad.

That was the next week's match, and I've only seen a short clip of that on the Johnny Legend music videos tape. This was a regular scaffold match and Dundee brought the whip up. I think I've asked Kurt to bug Johnny about if he has the raw footage used for the tape he put out (plus the Kaufman Memphis stuff he and his sister have), but I can try again.

Eh, I get the feeling he'll keep throwing it in anyway. 22 tape order. 11 extras.

By the way, I looked at that AWA tape a little bit and it has a Stan Hansen studio squash. Dunno if there was more studio stuff, but how much do you have past '84, anyway?

No tape number that goes with his list, but the label says "Best of AWA #1." It looks like John has a LOT of unsorted stuff.

When did they stop doing studio shows, and how much do you have past Heenan's departure or thereabouts?

They went to Vegas in early 86 as I remember, and the old studio squashes were done at that point.

I've got a decent amount past Heenan leaving in mid-84...probably most or all of what is out there.

The hardest AWA stuff to get TV-wise are shows before 1984. That 1980 Youtube stuff (which I have from the guy on dvd now) is an absolute treasure....that's the sort of stuff that is really scarce.

Slaughter-Wahoo turned out to be about 15 minutes plus pre/post match promos. Dunno why John described it as lasting a full TV hour in his list. Still looks like a cool tape, though.

Also, I'll just mention it here: Bob Cassidy's sending me a DVD w/ the full Bigelow-Gordy match from Windy City. It also has a full Wahoo-Manny match from Windy City.

Pretty sure I've had that for some time, and I think it's complete....let me know how long this version is when you get it. I've got a few other Windy City odds and ends kicking around if there are specifics you might be after.

What happens next with the tapes, conversion/money for conversions/who's doing them/where to send funds/etc. wise?
