Will wants you to see if there's any more AWA on the list that might be needed.

Ok, I found these ones. I may have already recommended them and they weren't available or maybe we already got them. Anyways, the bolded matches are ones that i'm looking at specifically:

TAPE #A1308: AWA MATCHES FROM 1984 - 1986:

This tape contains "The Brawl in St. Paul", A *RARE* PPV that aired only in the Twin Cities area on 12/25/86. The rest of the tape contains AWA matches from 1984 which are ALL joined in progress.

NICK BOCKWINKEL v CURT HENNIG, from "The Brawl in St. Paul" - excellent match with a screwy finish- 4 ***.

CAGE MATCH: SHAWN MICHAELS & MARTY JANNETTY v BUDDY ROSE & DOUG SOMERS, from "The Brawl in St. Paul" - another bloody, tremendous match in this feud- 4 1/4 ***.

JIMMY SNUKA v COL. DEBEERS, from "The Brawl in St. Paul"

LEON WHITE, SCOTT HALL & GREG GAGNE v MR. SIATO, LARRY ZYBYSKO & THE NINJA, from "The Brawl in St. Paul"- White would go on to a Hall-of-Fame career as Vader.

BORIS ZURKOV v STEVE O, from "The Brawl in St. Paul"

BUCK ZUMHOFF v BUDDY WOLFF, from "The Brawl in St. Paul" - I think Wolff had been retired for close to ten years, but the AWA managed to lure him to this event and leave those no-good young wrestlers at home.

BRIAN KNOBBS v EARTHQUAKE FARRIS, from "The Brawl in St. Paul" - Knobbs would go on to fame as one of the Nasty Boys.

ROAD WARRIORS v BARON VON RASHKE & CURT HENNIG- this is the match where Curt gets his head caught in the ropes and the fans engage in a mild riot. WILD!

ROAD WARRIORS v CURT & LARRY HENNIG

KEN PATERA & CRUSHER BLACKWELL v GREG GAGNE & JIM BRUNZELL

NICK BOCKWINKEL v MAD DOG VACHON

NICK BOCKWINKEL & BLACKJACK MULLIGAN v THE CRUSHER & MAD DOG VACHON

JESSE VENTURA & MR. SIATO v BARON VON RASHKE & ???- clips of the heels destroying Von Rashke.

NICK BOCKWINKEL v JUMBO TSURUTA, from Japan- Jumbo wins the AWA title.

STEVE REGAL v BUCK ZUMHOFF

CAGE MATCH: THE CRUSHER & GREG GAGNE v CRUSHER BLACKWELL & SHIEK ADNAN EL-KAISSIE

JESSE VENTURA & JAKE MILLIMAN v FABULOUS ONES- funny, as Governor Jesse won't tag in.

RICK MARTEL v JUMBO TSURUTA- Martel wins the AWA title.

DUSTY RHODES v LARRY ZYBYSKO

A BATTLE ROYAL, won by Crusher Blackwell.

NICK BOCKWINKEL v RICK MARTEL

GREG GAGNE v STEVE REGAL

TONY ATLAS v STEVE REGAL

BRUISER BRODY v TONY ATLAS & JIM BRUNZELL in a handicap match- nice way to kill the babyfaces!

NICK BOCKWINKEL v BAD RHIENGANS

HARLEY RACE v CURT HENNIG

BRUISER BRODY v STEVE O- some tracking problems on this match.

4 hours, very good / good picture.

**MY NOTE: I have a copy of this tape, a few/several gens away from McAdam's I assume. Bockwinkel vs. Martel is from July of 1984 in St. Paul, and this is the only tape I've ever found it on. Mine is in horrible shape, but if this one approaches VG it's worth having. JIP for about the last 7-8 minutes of the match as I recall....there will be a TON of JIP stuff from St. Paul on the AWA set unless that's decided to be a faux-pas. It's just the way the AWA showed their best matches on the TV shows.

Gagne-Regal I don't remember seeing and I assume it's also a St. Paul matchup.

TAPE # A1696: NWA AND TWA RAW FOOTAGE:

From Landover, MD, March 18, 1989:

DICK MURDOCH v BUTCH REED

STING v KENDALL WINDHAM

RICK STIENER v KEVIN SULLIVAN

LEX LUGER v BARRY WINDHAM

ROAD WARRIORS v STEVE WILLIAMS & MIKE ROTONDO

RIC FLAIR v RICKY STEAMBOAT- GREAT MATCH, 5 ***!!

From Philadelphia, 1/13/90:

TOM PRICHARD v CHEETAH KID

PAUL ORNDORFF v AUSTIN IDOL

JERRY LAWLER v KERRY VON ERICH

CAGE MATCH: BAM BAM BIGELOW v TULLY BLANCHARD

From New Jersey, November 7, 1989:

LARRY ZYBYSKO v NIKITA KOLOFF

AUSTIN IDOL v NIKITA KOLOFF

**MY NOTE--I've seen no listing for this at all previously. This would be Larry defending the AWA title against Nikita and the date is consistent with when they had some matches against each other. Only question would be whether they recognized the AWA title aas being on the line there...don't see why they wouldn't. I'm also assuming it's a handheld.

So really, for AWA stuff, only those two matches.

I also noticed this one...if it isn't already procured, maybe it can be picked up this time or in the future, just for the bolded match...just for my own personal curiosity, as it's a 70's WWWF Match. If someone already has this kicking around let me know. It seems oddly palced as I've seen most of if not all of the other bouts on that tape, but not that match:

TAPE #A1025: WWWF WRESTLING from 1978 - 1981:

BRUNO SAMMARTINO v LARRY ZYBYSKO, January 1980. Included are interviews with Zybysko from previous shows,

where he threatens to retire if Bruno does not wrestle him. Bruno accaepts, and Larry turns on him, cracking his former

mentor's head open with a chair- Bruno is a bloody mess.

BOB BACKLUND & PETER MAIVIA v SPIROS ARION & VICTOR RIVERA, Oct 1978- Maivia turns on Backlund in this rare,

hard to find match.

IVAN PUTSKI & TITO SANTANA v JOHN & JERRY VALIANT from New York, Oct 1979- Ivan & Tito win the tag titles.

TONY GAREA & LARRY ZYBYSKO v THE VALIANTS, from May 1979. Johnny & Jerry win the tag titles.

KEN PATERA v MIKE MASTERS, from 1979. Patera returns to the WWF with dark brown hair.

KEN PATERA v PAT PATTERSON, April 1980. Patera wins the I-C title, poor picture.

GEORGE STEELE v RICK BOLTON, July 1981- Steele legit dislocates Bolton's shoulder- really graphic and gross.

ANDRE THE GIANT INTERVIEW- Andre's on crutches, having suffered a broken leg from Killer Khan- of course, Khan and

Fred Blassie take advantage and jump the defenseless Andre.

SGT. SLAUGHTER v RICK McGRAW from Dec 1980- after the match Srage jumps Arnold Skoaland, Backlund's manager

HAYSTACK CALHOUN & LARRY ZYBYSKO v CRUSHER BLACKWELL & SUPER DESTROYER- the fans were very into seeing the 400lb Blackwell v the 600lb Calhoun.

Plus: local promos with Grand Wizard, Backlund, Blassie, The Valiants, and more.

QUALITY: Very Good / Good- LENGTH: 2 hours.

I just looked and he really didn't have much in the way of AWA tapes listed anyway, so anything of note would be on '70s-'80s comps.

I plowed through all the comps too, nothing stood out that isn't already available in decent quality that I saw.

Also John sure did hate the AWA, didn't he? His write-up notes for AWA bouts are usually very negative. If he was trying to sell tapes I never got the point of running down the stuff you were trying to sell.

oh well, Meltzer always seemed to despise the AWA as well. Whatareyagonnado?

Nope. Tape ended there. No idea if whoever has the PM Film tapes has it in full. Besides not being listed in their catalog, the version floating around (on a Lynch comp of PM stuff) is an even shorter clip.

1. Soon, as the conversion of the first buy is almost done.

2. Some sort of weird mathematical equation that I'll leave it to someone else to figure out. Or we re-divide the tape costs and I partially refund everyone else. :)
