Posted January 27, 201015 yr comment_5447384 Mighty Zulu (Ron Pope) vs. Raul Castro (8/8/86) How bout a masked man with a regular name. Of all the guys to book they bring in fucking Zulu. Yeesh. Abdullah the Butcher vs. Bruiser Brody (8/4/86) This was the wild brawl that I’ve been waiting on between these two men and man did they deliver with Abby bleeding in seconds. Abby would smash Brody with a weapon causing him to bleed and the crowd is going apeshit every time Abby pokes Brody with his stick. Gary Hart is awesome here in his role distracting David Manning so Abby can do his dirty deeds. Brody would make his comeback and they would brawl throughout the building with both men really laying in the shots. They would brawl behind a wall but would fight through it with Brody using a board to bash Abby’s head in. The match would go back to the ring with Brody just killing Abby with the board and getting DQed but not stopping his punishment. Hart then comes back with a steel chair nailing Brody in the back allowing Abby to recover and use the board for his pleasure. Abby & Hart would clear out babyface jobbers until Brody slid out of the ring. This was so fucking awesome and could be a Top 10 match. Slam dunk nomination. Dingo Warrior (Jim Hellwig) vs. "Gentleman" Chris Adams (8/8/86) Percy Pringle comes out before the match to taunt Adams into attacking him but Percy would jab him in the neck with his walking stick allowing Dingo to take advantage. Dingo tried to choke Adams but he would break free and connected with a Superkick to send Dingo to the floor giving him the advantage and even broke out a piledriver. Adams would hit a diving cross body block off the top rope but Dingo caught him and fucked up the finish as he was supposed to drop him throat first on the top rope but ended up falling with Adams like a regular slam. Dingo would then pick up Adams and hit the slam on the top rope for the win. Then we get a classic match with Kerry against the Super Destroyer for some reason. "Maniac" Matt Borne & "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer vs. Brian Adias & Mark Youngblood (8/8/86) Borne throws some damn good forearms here on Adias ringing his ears a little. Adias takes a pounding in general from both heels here as Buzz hits him with a stiff clothesline and a great backbreaker before Borne takes him down with a good belly-to-belly suplex. Youngblood would get the hot tag and it breaks down into a 4-way brawl but Buzz would pull Mark down by the hair allowing Borne to hit a diving elbow drop for the win. Fun little match thanks to the heels but not a nomination. Brickhouse Brown vs. “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal (3/21/86) Brick is making his debut and Regal is also a newcomer. This had some good back-and-forth action but very basic in the style as they were pacing themselves for a 60:00 draw or something but the problem was this was a 15:00 match. The finish then just came out of nowhere as they weren't even working nearfalls trying to beat the clock. A weirdly paced match. Then we get clips of the Von Erichs vs. Freebirds from Fort Worth on 3/17/86. “Ravishing” Rick Rude vs. Steve Simpson (3/21/86) Simpson is also making his debut here and a new teen idol is born. Simpson put up a fight but would get squashed. Then we get highlights of a Brody/Gordy brawl from Fort Worth and this was awesome. Definite extra. Texas Tornado Match: The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. The Grappler (Len Denton) & “Hollywood” John Tatum (3/21/86) The Fants are just passing through Dallas as they jump to the UWF a week later. There is a brawl before the bell rings with the Fants cleaning house while everyone is in their entrance attire. The brawl would continue as Sunshine goes after Missy getting french fries and smearing them on here as the heels get distracted with the Grappler getting cradled by Fulton for the win. Very short but fun.
