Posted February 5, 201015 yr comment_5447593 This starts with the end of the Badstreet match from the previous show. Jason Sterling vs. Bob Owens (2/12/88) Owens on offense amuses me as he was such a jobber for years that it just didn't look right. Sterling was his normal fun self using a great finish where he jumped feet first on Owens back then jumped off and hit an inside cradle to win. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) & Solomon Grundy vs. The Real Thing (Rip Morgan), John Tatum, & Jack Victory (2/12/88) Man do the fans love their Fantastics and funny watching Ripper & Jacko teaming up a year before their reunion in the NWA. Vince Apollo is a low grade Paul E. here but wasn't bad in that role. Fants were fun early on brawling with the heels clearing the ring with Tatum & Victory bumping all over the place as Grundy stood there and cheered. Grundy comes in and he actually works FIP taking punishment from all the heels including a vicious clothesline by Victory. Rogers would get the tag and we get more Fants taking it to the heels fun with Victory bumping before Tatum would grab the hair of a running Fulton and pulling him to the mat. Tatum was great here cheering on Ripper as he attacked Fulton then we got Victory pulling Fulton up off the mat by his hair twice and dropping him which contributed to Bobby's early baldness. Rogers would get the hot tag and the match broke down into a 6-way with Apollo getting involved for a great finish. I really dug this match a lot and this one goes on the block for sure. Kerry then cuts a promo about Al Perez and declares that he will bring the belt back home. Next is a recap of Michael Hayes returning including brawling with Al Perez & Gary Hart. Then we get a promo by Perez & Hart talking about the challengers for Al's title. "Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez vs. Terry Taylor (2/12/88) Taylor is making his in-ring debut and before the match Adams comes out to address his hated rival saying that Perez is his main object of desire right now. Terry Gordy then shows up wanting his shot at Perez but Adams attacks him so Perez attacks him. Gordy then locks on the Oriental Spike on Adams before Kerry comes running out to attack Perez as Taylor hangs back. The ring would clear leaving Taylor & Adams in the ring as Gordy & Kerry brawl on the floor and as that happened Taylor coldcocks Adams then gives him a piledriver before taunting him. Taylor hit another piledriver for good measure before Kerry runs him off. This was a phenomenal segment and a slam dunk extra.

The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) & Solomon Grundy vs. The Real Thing (Rip Morgan), John Tatum, & Jack Victory (2/12/88) Heaven help me, I think I'm becoming a Solomon Grundy fan. He is the star of this match. Granted, Rogers' involvement is kinda limited until the finish, but I really liked Grundy's FIP section, and I dug him on the apron rattling the cowbell to rally the fans behind Fulton. A few awkward bits, but they were really minor, and I will back this as a low-end nom. "Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez vs. Terry Taylor (2/12/88) Yeah, this was a great angle and an extra.
