Posted February 5, 201015 yr comment_5447610 Black Bart vs. Phillip wylie (4/8/88) Total squash. Then we get another great promo by Taylor on Chris Adams. Then we get clips of the Birds breaking out the Freebird Haircream on Hayes in Fort Worth on 4/10/88. but Angel of Death gets it instead on his chest. Iceman King Parsons vs. Jim Richardson (4/8/88) Iceman just toys with Richardson before finishing him off. Adams then cuts a solid retort promo on Taylor. Texas Heavyweight Title: Terry Taylor © vs. “Gentleman” Chris Adams (4/10/88) Adams comes to the ring wearing an umpire’s mask to cover up his facial injuries and would eventually get DQed for using the mask on Taylor after Taylor took it off to work over the injuries. Extra material. Then we get clips of the Tatum/Victory vs. Simpsons match from the previous show. Michael "PS" Hayes & Kevin Von Erich vs. Killer Tim Brooks & The Hood (Jeff Gaylord (4/8/88) Hayes teaming with the Von Erichs after almost 6 years is odd and were fun as a team here but this wasn’t a good match although there was good crowd heat.
June 7, 201015 yr comment_5451726 Chris Adams interview Adams often seems to struggle with firey babyface revenge promos. On a certain level, it makes sense, because he's trying to balance his anger with the "Gentleman" gimmick (they're usually better when they happen in the heat of the moment, too). But it tends to sound wrong to me. Texas Heavyweight Title: Terry Taylor © vs. “Gentleman” Chris Adams (4/10/88) Ummm...why did Terry Taylor punch Chris Adams in the face when he was wearing an umpire's mask? Oh well, this was still a great beatdown by Adams, and belongs as an extra.
