Skip gets a good bit of offense here but is a little slow at times and Iceman gets the win by rolling through an O'Connor Roll using the tights. Ralph Pulley then interviews Akbar & Iceman about Kerry. The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Rick Hazzard & Jeff Raitz (6/17/88) Yep that is the referee Rick Hazzard. SST kills these guys especially Raitz. Pulley then interviews Shaun Simpson about Tatum & Victory. Then we get clips of Iceman of beating some jobber in Fort Worth with a steel chair until Kerry makes the save but Taylor would run out for a double team before Kevin would even the odds. Hayes & Kerry then cut a promo on their enemies with Hayes being really spirited about Roberts. Next are clips of Steve Casey throwing powder in Embry's eyes after a match with Rick Hazzard in Fort Worth and pinning Embry with Hazzard counting. "Flamboyant" Eric Embry vs. Jason Sterling (6/17/88) Sterling was great early on hitting fast dropkicks and almost hitting a fucking Code Red 15 years before it was patented. Sterling would get some good nearfalls early on and got a lot of offense with Embry bumping all over the ring for him. Embry would kill him with a clothesline though to set up his piledriver for the win. Very fun little sprint. Embry would grab the mic after the match promising revenge for Casey blinding him with powder in Fort Worth. Tatum & Victory would then cut a promo on their feud with Gordy & the Simpsons. Jimmy Jack Funk vs. Mike Reed (6/17/88) Funk makes his debut here. Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Terry Taylor (6/17/88) Lawler makes his Sportatorium debut and has a confrontation with Kerry before the match. God damn I loved the early part of this match with Taylor sneaking in his punches to setup Lawler and his punching brigade. Taylor would get control but Lawler would fight back with a clothesline over the top rope before the action returned to the ring where TV time would run out. What a bunch of bullshit because this was looking like great stuff.
