Posted February 27, 201015 yr comment_5448106 Tony Torres vs. Jim Ward (12/9/88) Funny to see Torres get a spotlight match here. Super Black Ninja (Keiji Muto) vs. Cowboy Tony Falk (12/9/88) Muto was awesome here and I love the angle where he uses the iron claw to bait the Von Erichs. Then we get a promo by Fuller & Golden. Brickhouse Brown, “Flamboyant” Eric Embry, & Jeff Jarrett vs. Kamala, Iceman King Parsons, & Skandor Akbar (12/9/88) This picks up where it left off the week before. Brick plays FIP and takes some punishment from the heels as Embry drops to the floor grabbing the mic getting the crowd to chant for Brick but the beatdown would continue. Iceman spends too much time dancing around so as he goes back to work on Brick he would get snookered in with an inside cradle for a pinfall. The faces would get beatdown after the match as Brick eats a piledriver by Iceman during the fracas. Iceman would then further embarrass Brick after the match by paintbrushing him numerous times before leaving. The match was fun but different parts of the match wasn't shown so I'm torn on a nomination. Embry then cuts a promo about his feud with Devastation Inc. Cactus Jack Manson & Gary Young vs. Steve Casey & David Hinkle (12/9/88) Casey hasn't been around in a while and he is linked with a jobber here like Grundy was the previous show. This ends up with the same result as that match. Then we get a promo by the heels afterwards with Cactus shining. World Class Tag Titles: The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) © vs. Michael “PS” Hayes & Chief Wahoo McDaniel (12/9/88) Wahoo in World Class is odd but he was a legend in Dallas for years. SST coming out to Don’t Worry Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin is still hilarious to me. Wahoo fires in the chops on Samu and the fans are really into seeing Wahoo here. Hayes plays FIP here and is awesome in that role with the SST just taking it to him and selling the beating very well. Hayes would hit a DDT on Samu and slowly worked his way to the hot tag on Wahoo who would clean house by clunking the SST’s heads together which they no-sold of course with the story being that Wahoo forgot about their Samoan heritage but Wahoo would hold his own fighting back. Roberts would throw a chair in the ring that Hayes would get and would crack it over the SST’s heads as Bronko Lubich calls for the DQ. I liked this even with the shitty finish and I’m throwing it on the block. Next is another promo with Akbar, Cactus, & Young who is clean shaven on this promo while he wrestled with a full beard.

Brickhouse Brown, “Flamboyant” Eric Embry, & Jeff Jarrett vs. Kamala, Iceman King Parsons, & Skandor Akbar (12/9/88) We finish up the match from the previous show. More great action here, but I think the abrupt finish keeps this from being a nomination. Eric Embry interview It could be at McDonalds! Cactus Jack Manson & Gary Young vs. Steve Casey & David Hinkle (12/9/88) This was fun. Young and Cactus busting out a powerbomb variant on The Smoking Gunns' old Revolver finisher was a bit of a surprise.
