Posted March 2, 201015 yr comment_5448173 "Superstar" Bill Dundee vs. Mr. Saito (6/20/81) I believe this is the only time these two matched up and this is Dundee's debut on SECW TV. Jimmy Golden is at ringside flashing the bounty money he has on the line on Ron Fuller's head and he is awesome. They tear it up on the mat early with Saito using a great Dragon Screw and Dundee countering like a mofo anything Saito tried to lock on. Saito would then break out a swinging front chancery which looked awesome but again Dundee would sneak out of a necklock to lock on a Boston Crab. They would continue to trade on the mat until Ron Fuller would show up to attack Golden which knocked all of the bounty money in the air as he had Dundee in the sleeper so Saito would release the hold and jumped to the floor so he could grab the money along with Golden. Saito would then get counted out and Dundee wins in less than 4 minutes. This had the potential to be an awesome match but the angle is extra material. Ron Bass starts the next show wanting to face Ken Lucas on TV and the match is made. (7/4/81) Tommy Wright vs. Barry Cummings (7/4/81) Wright is getting a shot at the US Jr. Heavyweight Title so he gets a spotlight match. Bob Armstrong comes out after the match and talks about Brad getting injured by Dennis Condrey, Randy Rose, & ex-referee Tommy Weathers on 7/2/81 with clips of Brad winning the US Jr. Title from Stan Lane earlier in the evening then getting injured later. Bob is fucking awesome here displaying his anger and this is an extra. Norvell Austin makes his return in a promo with Jimmy Golden as a heel trying to collect the bounty on Ron Fuller. Mr. Olympia (Jerry Stubbs) vs. Mike Jackson (7/4/81) Mario Galento is on comnentary here. Mike is sharp here going for armdrags and tries to get a nearfall early with a victory roll keeping Olympia on his toes. We get good clean matwork here with takedowns into headscissors into counters with both men showing their wrestling prowess. Jackson breaks out the MUGA standing headscissors counter which impressed Olympia. Next is more of the same leading to a criss-cross the ropes spot which I love before Mike would try his 180 degree splash off the second rope but this time Olympia caught him and hit a powerslam for the win. This went about 8 minutes and I think it should go on the block as it was a solid wrestling match. Next is a personality profile regarding the US Jr. Heavyweight Title situation and Ray Candy defending his Alabama title against Jimmy Golden. Norvell Austin vs. Mike Norris (7/4/81) Norris tried to shine on Norvell a couple of times but he would pay for that in the end. Then we get clips of Ron Fuller beating a masked bounty hunter and unmasking him as Bobby Garrett on 6/29/81. Fuller then promises to send all of the bounty hunters out on stretchers. "Outlaw" Ron Bass vs. Ken Lucas (7/4/81) Lucas throws some good punches and armdrags to frustrate Bass at the start of the match before Bass goes to roughhousing tactics to gain the advantage including thumbs to the eyes. Bass then goes to work on the midsection of Lucas to setup the Heart Punch but as he goes up top, Lucas recovers and slams him to the mat before making a comeback leading to a sleeper hold but Bass pulls the referee into Lucas. Bass then adjusts his glove and nails Lucas bloody before the referee tries to stop him leading to him going into the corner. Lucas then starts firing punches at Bass as the jobbers come out to try and help but Lucas can't be stopped until Mr. Olympia runs Bass off. Fun match with a bad finish. Tommy Wright starts the next show with his newly won US Jr. title that he won in Birmingham on 7/13/81. This is quite the wooden promo. Ray Candy vs. Bob Owens (7/18/81) Competitive squash. Norvell then comes out after the match and we would get clips of him vs. Candy on 7/13/81. Then we get a a promo with Condrey, Rose, & Tommy Weathers and this is good. Mr. Olympia (Jerry Stubbs) vs. The Raider (7/18/81) Olympia tools this masked jobber. Olympia then narrates clips of his match against Golden on 7/13/81. Next is a personality profile featuring Ron Fuller and his upcoming bounty match with Michael Hayes on 7/20/81 with Hayes cutting a promo followed up by promos by Lucas & Bass. Good stuff. Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose vs. Mr. Olympia & Tommy Wright (7/18/81) Wright's original partner doesn't show up so Olympia takes his place. The heels use good teamwork and dirty tactics to keep Wright in the ring and near their corner but Olympia would come in fists a blazin before Condrey puts him down with a backdrop suplex. Rose would tag in but Olympia fights him off before eating a diving clothesline off the middle rope. Olympia would get worked over but got the tag to Wright who came in strong but again the heels got him at a disadvantage including eating a hard clothesline by Condrey. Olympia would soon get the tag though and the 4-way brawl was on with Condrey going to his kneepad for a foreign object which would bring out Bob Armstrong for the DQ with the Wrestling Pro right behind him to run off the heels. Fun match. Michael Hayes vs. Roy Lee Welch (7/18/81) Hayes would become a regular here 6 months later and looks good here while Ron Fuller does commentary. Hayes heels it up and taunts Fuller forcing Ron to brawl with him in the ring. Golden then runs in and they rip up Ron's suit leading to a wild brawl with Bass & Lucas joining in. Then we move ahead to 10/30/82 and Robert Fuller narrating the clips of his brother Ron wrestling Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Title on 10/26/82 with Bob Armstrong as the special referee and this is the match that features Bob's first heel turn. Slam dunk extra. NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © vs. "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol (5/23/83) This is clips of what looked like an awesome match.
