Posted March 3, 201015 yr comment_5448200 Chris Adams/Jimmy Jack Funk vs. The Blackbirds This is a Texas Tornado/Bullrope/chain match. This was just a fun brawl that the crowd was super hot for. It had a couple of hiccupps, but was full of excitement. The bout should go on just for that Adams/Parsons getting Adams tangled around the ringpost. It was a simple spot, but so cool. Anyone who has ever chained their dog outside on the porch for one reason or another will appreciate it. Overall this was a spirited brawl that goes forward.
June 11, 201015 yr comment_5451839 Chris Adams & Jimmy Jack Funk vs. The Blackbirds (Chain Match) Legends of WCCW 8/7/90 (NEED TO EDIT COMMERCIAL) - Now this starts out with some nice, nasty, violent shit. Adams chokes out Ice and after being saved by Brick, Ice returns the favor. Jack and Brick are paired up with Adams and Ice paired up. Both pairs go back and forth beating each other up and Ice and Adams end up outside more often than not. This is when blood could really be beneficial especially during the stereo strikes in the corner. Oh shit, Brick ends up hanging Funk with the chain leaving Adams to go 2 on 1. Still, there was some fun stuff here but there was a lot of aimless wandering around or extended choking sequences. Matches like this need something visual to keep it fresh in your mind whether it is blood or a big sequence and this lacked any real memorable moments except maybe the hanging but Funk got out rather quickly and was swinging a chair shortly after. Low level nomination at best.
June 19, 201015 yr comment_5452162 Texas Bullrope/Chain Match: "Gentleman" Chris Adams & Jimmy Jack Funk vs. The Black Birds (Brickhouse Brown & Iceman King Parsons) (4/28/89) Both teams would use their weapons accordingly working over each other. Iceman wraps Adams around the ringpost with the chain and he really works over Adams as Brick works over JJ but the tide would turn and the faces got control back again. This is World Class so you would expect some blood to be flowing but there was none to be seen here and I agree with Will as that would've really helped this one out. Harold Harris would make a slow count which pissed off Adams who took his aggression out on Iceman by pounding him on a table and using a steel chair before trying a piledriver on the floor but Iceman would counter with a backdrop. Iceman then tried one of his own but Adams would counter himself. After some questionable nearfalls thanks to Harris, Brick would throw some powder in JJ's eyes then took off his end of the rope and hung JJ over the top rope with Harris trying to get him free. Adams then had to fight off the Birds by himself with the Birds using the chain on Adams trying to bust him open but JJ would recover running off the Birds with a chair. A bell would ring but the brawling would continue as the Birds used a spike piledriver on Adams before JJ would finally run them off with a chair. The faces would win by DQ ending this wild brawl and I think there is enough violence to push this one forward.
June 19, 201015 yr comment_5452165 Agreed that this could have used some blood, but still had a lot of great action, and a lot of infighting with the short rope and chain, which was cool. Also noticed that a lot of the shots with the cowbell were to the side or the back of the other guy's head, which was really crazy and violent. I'll back it as a low-level nom.
