Southeastern 5/5 - 11/17/84

We start with Arn Anderson, Jerry Stubbs, & Sonny King narrating the clips of them losing their Southeastern Tag Titles to Bob Armstrong & Ron Fuller on 4/30/84 but due to controversy the belts are declared vacant.

Next is a promo by Armstrong & Fuller showing the video of Anderson & Stubbs injuring Ron West.

These four then cut a promo the next week regarding their match on TV for the vacant titles with Ron Fuller telling Bob that this is going to be a day that both men will always remember and never forget. Uh oh.

Decision Match for the vacant Southeastern Tag Titles: Arn Anderson & Jerry Stubbs vs. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong & "Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller (5/5/84)

Stud is wearing his mask here which I loved because he would wear it whenever he felt. Bob starts strong slamming both heels sending them to the floor to regroup with Sonny King. We would get a clip to Fuller tagging in and working over Stubbs' left arm but Stubbs would bring Fuller to their corner where they would double up on him until Bullet helped him and a 4-way brawl was on leading to Arn posting Bullet before going to a break. We come back from the break with Fuller having Arn down in an armbar working him over. Bullet is dazed on the apron before Stud would tag him in and he actually came in blazing until Arn snuck up and nailed him. The heels would then use solid teamwork to keep Bullet down but would force them to collide heads before trying to make the hot tag to Fuller who would just punch him in the face before piledriving him. Fuller then grabbed a trash can lid and pounded Bob in the head leaving him laying for the heels to easily pin the bloody Bullet to regain their titles. There was some fun stuff in the match but god damn was the turn great as Fuller got his revenge for Bob turning on him 19 months before. Slam dunk extra.

Anderson & Stubbs then cut a good promo crowing about their victory.

Bullet then comes out and says that he would return the favor to the Stud.

Fuller then cuts a promo on his way out of the building saying that he will now get the respect he deserves. Good stuff.

The next week Rick Stewart then interviews Fuller in the Stud Stable offices where he explains the rivalry between him & Bob that has gone on since they both came to Alabama and says that he won't appear on TV until he is ready. Fuller then said that his friend Ted DiBiase is going to take care of his light work in Bob. Fuller then proclaims that he won't wear his mask anymore to hide his beautiful face for the women. This was a great promo.

Bullet & Scott Armstrong then cuts a promo in retort saying that Fuller will always be a number two if you know what he means. This is followed by clips of the Armstrongs vs. Arn & Stubbs from 5/7/84 where Fuller would get involved.

Then we move ahead 5 months with Arn Anderson cutting a promo about how great he is along with the greatness of Lord Humongous. (10/13/84)

Arn then cuts a promo for the live audience about his feud with Mr. Olympia leading to a brawl that goes into the ring with Arn running out.

Austin Idol then comes out to talk about clips of a match he had with Flair that featured Jimmy Golden blinding him with a camera flash.

Then we get a personality profile with Idol & Bullet talking about their current battles along with clips of Bob getting a pin on Flair before he regained the title in 1983. Idol is cutting a promo about having a loser leaves town with Boris Zuhkov so Boris shows up setting off a brawl where Idol has Boris in the Las Vegas Leglock but Golden comes out with brass knux to KO Idol then they spike piledrive him on a steel chair before leaving. Extra material.

Arn then attacks Olympia after a squash match the next week trying to hang him with a rope. (10/20/84)

Next is a personality profile with Jimmy Golden where they go over his feud with Austin Idol with Idol who is in a neckbrace thanks to Golden cutting a promo in retort. Extra material.

Then we get a promo by Mr. Olympia in his "backyard" with a stuffed pig that was supposed to be Arn Anderson on a grill and he lights it on fire because Arn threw fire in his face. Definite extra.

Mr. Olympia (Jerry Stubbs) vs. Ron Starr (11/10/84)

Starr attacks Olympia at the bell pounding him with fists and digging his claws in Olympia's back. Starr was solid here roughhousing Olympia before Olympia would fire it up to make his comeback getting a couple of nearfalls before Starr went to the eyes to regain the advantage. I liked Starr's backdrop suplex for a nearfall followed up by a Harley Race high kneelift before going to a full-nelson. Arn would come out to hit Olympia with a strap but he ducked allowing Starr to get hit and Olympia to get the strap to run them off. Arn & Golden then talk about getting even with their foes afterwards with Golden showing his picture of Idol that he took during the Flair match. before Idol & Olympia answer their claims. Fun stuff.

We then get a video of Jimmy Golden shooting pool at Ron Fuller's "house" in Los Angeles where he announces that the Stud is coming back to Continental to manage him. They come back to the studio where Idol shows up and attacks Golden for a wild brawl involving the Stud running out to help Golden and Golden using brass knux to bloody Idol. Stud beats up jobbers as Idol gets destroyed before Lord Humongous comes out to help which would bring out the Rat Patrol, Bullet Bob, Arn, & Olympia making the brawl wilder. The Stud Stable then is formed and they cut a celebration promo claiming that they will win all the titles. A bloody Idol would come back out with Olympia and they cut passionate promos. This was tremendous and another slam dunk extra. (11/17/84)
