Sugar brings a lot of cool stuff into his bouts. Adias was solid as well, and works much better as a heel than the bland baby face. Though he shouldn't be the #1 or 2 heel in the promotion. Finish was weird since they are building Adias up for Kerry's return. The Thing vs. Vic Steamboat This was more an angle than a bout. Who was the Thing? Al Perez vs. Al Madril I liked the mat exchanges. Other than that I was hard pressed to like this bout. It was restholds galore. Al Perez vs Kevin Von Erich This had Hart and Adias in Perez's corner and Fritz and Kerry in Kevin's corner. This was a good bout that fell a tad short as a nomination for me. I always dig Kevin's body scissors spots and can always be counted on to eat up some time in the bout with some cool shit. It can be a tad sloppy looking at times. I think he went to the spot earlier and blew it with Perez. I like Perez's look, and some of his work, and I can see why a territory would put him high on the cards, but he isn't good enough to big the champ. His look isn't good enough to overcompenate for his lack of talent. The near fall with Kevin's body press was great. The finish was cool as hell that it helps get Kerry over, and doesn't bury Perez, but it didn't help Kevin. Kerry was the favorite son though. I dig Perez's forearm smashes. They look real credible. Again Perez's offense is rather pedestrian. Which it wouldn't matter to me if he could build up the heat another way, but he doesn't do it on a regular basis. He doesn't elevate other workers, they elevate him.
