Posted March 15, 201015 yr comment_5448440 "Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller & Jimmy Golden vs. The Mongol & Al Scott (7/29/85) This isn't the Mongol from World Class that's for sure. Total squash and after the match Stud gets on the mic calling the Bullet to the ring but he stays with Solie and reveals that he has picked Robert Fuller as his partner for the loser leaves town steel cage match. Another shoe drops in this awesome angle. Definite extra. Next we get a video for The Flame to Some Like It Hot by The Power Station. One of my favorite songs from the 80's. Stud & Golden then join Solie to express their disgust at Robert joining forces with the Bullet. "Exotic" Adrian Street vs. Paul Brown (7/29/85) Squash and Street is awesome. Bill Ash vs. Jimmy Backlund (7/29/85) Ash comes out in full cap & gown 3 years before The Genius gimmick was born. Ash has declared himself as a doctor of ring psychology. Yes this is Jimmy Del Ray as his opponent as well and he was competitive here. Tommy Rich comes out for a promo with Solie where they show a video from Pensacola where Wildfire saves the Bullet from an attack by the Stud Stable but The Flame would bust Tommy up with his loaded mask. Rich then vows revenge. Steve Armstrong & Nick Patrick vs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) (7/29/85) Still odd seeing Nick Patrick the wrestler and in the Rat Patrol cutoff t-shirt. The Nightmares really love having their left arms worked over by Armstrongs because it happens again here although not as vigorous. Patrick would work FIP and did a good job which against the great Nightmares wasn't hard but Steve would come in before any type of hot tag to set off a 4-way brawl. A Nightmare would get an O'Connor Roll on Patrick but he would spring him off into the turnbuckle before catching him in a schoolboy to get the upset win. We would get dueling promos afterwards with Nightmares wanting a losers split up match which the faces accepts. This was fine action but not a nomination. Solie mentions on the next show that they can't show the loser leaves steel cage match between Stud/Golden vs. Bullet/Robert Fuller because of the violent nature of what it could be and the potential of a brother vs. brother match. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. Mike Nichols & Roy Lee Welch (8/12/85) Welch gets to shine a little here of course and the Nightmares again are great as sellers but they still win regardless. Good little match though that goes over 10 minutes with Nightmares finishing off Nichols with a Tombstone/Alabama Jam combo that looked great. Stud & Golden then comes out and demands that the cage match be shown on TV or they won't compete in the match. Solie then says that he will see what he could do. Next is the fucking awesome Fire & Ice video for Ric Flair. Just fantastic. Then we get dueling promos from the Nightmares and Nick Patrick & the debuting Brickhouse Brown. Brickhouse Brown vs. Alan Martin (8/12/85) Now we get the in-ring debut for Brick and he looks good. Adrian Street then comes out to talk about putting Austin Idol out of action a couple of weeks earlier with clips shown and how he will kick anyone's ass who gets in his way. "Wildfire" Tommy Rich vs. Pablo Crenshaw (8/12/85) PABLO!!! one of the all-time great jobbers with a great physique. Rich wins this fairly easily. Next we get dueling promos by a bloody Flame and an exhausted Rich after a match they had that wasn't shown on TV. Flame was fucking awesome here. Losers Leave Town Steel Cage Match: "Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller & Jimmy Golden vs. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong & Robert Fuller (8/12/85) This is it, time for the big match. Fuller is out wearing a matching robe to Golden's which is foreshadowing to say the least. Bob is wearing white tights without a strap which I can't remember him going strapless and as soon as he enters the cage he tees off on the Stable. Robert comes in behind him and makes sure the door is locked as Bullet has the Stable in inside cradles for pins but the referee is occupied. Robert stands and watches Bob beat ass as the fans start noticing something is going on then he pulls the trigger as Bob locks on the sleeper on Golden. Fuller puts knux on his fist and the STABLE HAS UNITED as they beat the holy fuck out of Bullet who bleeds all over his white tights. Robert then locks on the Fuller Leglock as Golden goes to work on Bob until the Armstrongs start running down trying to enter the cage. Golden & Stud hold them off as Robert still has the Fuller Leglock locked on until Brad comes flying out scaling the cage and he goes fucking nuts on the Stable as the leave. The Stable celebrates on the floor as the Armstrong family hovers over their injured dad. The Stable then goes to Solie to gloat but they are run off by the Armstrongs. Brad comes back and cuts a fucking great heated promo wanting the Stable's asses. The build for this was awesome and the payoff was incredible as everyone was fantastic especially Solie. Grand slam extra. Brad, Scott, & Steve Armstrong vs. Bill Ash, Randy Barber, & Larry Clarke (8/19/85) This is a spotlight match for the Armstrongs and Ash walks away from his teammates before the finish.
