Posted March 22, 201015 yr comment_5448526 Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden come out to meet Solie at the desk to Bullet Bob's theme song "Bad to the Bone" and Fuller explains how he tricked Armstrong to be his partner. Bob then sends in a taped promo all bandaged up where he just wants to know why Robert turned on him and has to turn over the Alabama Heavyweight Title. This was great stuff and a definite extra. (8/19/85) Then we get dueling promos by the Armstrongs and the Stable where they make a street fight match. Southeastern Heavyweight Title: "Exotic" Adrian Street © vs. Roy Lee Welch (8/19/85) Street isn't fucking around here as he breaks out the funky matwork early and uses some vicious euros with Welch trying to fight back when he got the chance. Street would take it to Roy until he fired up and made a comeback but Linda would irritate him enough to chase her around the ring forcing Street to attack him on the floor but Welch fought back suplexing Street in the ring but Linda tripped him up and Street got the pin. Fun match but not a nomination. Solie then interviews Street and shows a taped promo from Austin Idol who is bandaged up and he vows revenge on Street after cutting a great promo about how much he misses wrestling. Street then said that video made him upset because he didn't hurt the other eye. Extra material. Brickhouse Brown vs. The Nightmare (Danny Davis) (8/19/85) This is JIP and didn't last long as the Nightmares double switch then Nick Patrick comes out for a brawl. After this we would get dueling promos from these 4 men. Continental Heavyweight Title: The Flame © vs. "Wildfire" Tommy Rich (8/19/85) When he wasn't stalling, Flame took a lot of punishment from Rich before he went for the mask prompting the Flame to backdrop him over the top rope to the floor. Rich would come back in to eat some headbutts by the Flame who had loaded his mask with Rich juicing. Flame is relentless in his attack using punches and headbutts before posting on Rich on the floor. Rich would fire it up though and started throwing bombs as the fans went nuts with one punch sending the Flame over the top and to the floor like he did to Rich earlier. Rich would miss a diving fistdrop off the apron though and hit straight concrete with Flame sending him back to the ring bringing a chair with him. Rich would steal the chair from the Flame and clocked him with it to win the title as the crowd went nuts. We would get dueling promos afterwards which was good of course with these two. I liked this match as it was nothing but a hard hitting brawl and this definitely moves forward. The next show starts with Dick Slater making his debut in Continental where he said that he was just passing through (from JCP to Mid-South) to see his friends Tommy Rich & The Armstrongs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. Brickhouse Brown & Nick Patrick (8/26/85) Brick dominates the whole match basically as he has all the offense for his team then works as the FIP before tagging in Patrick who worked sloppy here. Patrick would cradle a Nightmare before the other one hit him with a forearm on the back of the head off the top rope forcing a pinfall. Okay match. Next we get a video going over the Rich cousins/Nightmares feud before the Rich's come out for a promo on the Nightmares. Good stuff. Tommy then comes back out for a dueling promo with the Flame. Norvell Austin then makes his return in a promo where he gets into it with the Nightmares who want their promo time. Of course this would lead to a brawl where Norvell dominates them until the numbers game catches up to him. Norvell would reverse the Nightmares Tombstone with a SITOUT TOMBSTONE on Davis right on his head. Bill Ash would then run out to help the Nightmares and they destroy him until Roy Lee welch would come out for Ash and Brickhouse Brown would come out to help Norvell take out the Nightmares. This was fun. US Jr. Heavyweight Title: Bill Ash © vs. Roy Lee Welch (8/26/85) Ash attacks Welch at the bell taking it to the floor but Welch would post him to turn the tide. Welch pounded Ash bloody throwing some great punches and Ash was at his best on the defensive bumping all over the place taking punishment. Ash would backdrop Welch over the top rope as he was going for a punch for the DQ and that was complete bullshit. The match only went 4:37 but it was action packed although not a nomination. Then we would get dueling promos from Welch, Brickhouse, Norvell, Ash, & Nightmares. Southeastern Heavyweight Title: "Exotic" Adrian Street © vs. Ted Oates (8/26/85) Street has the Union Jack painted on his face which was awesome. Oates would snapmare Street in the ring from the apron and the war was on as both men teed off on each other. This was yet another match where Linda would get involved and tripped up Oates so Street could fall on him to get the win. The Stable then comes out with a stretcher saying that all the Armstrongs will leave town on them in their stretcher matches ending up in the Armstrongs running them off. Brad, Scott, & Steve Armstrong vs. Mark Cooper, The Flame, & Mike Power (8/26/85) Why was The Flame stuck with these jobbers. Flame felt the same way as he left them after a minute for them to be destroyed. Then there would be dueling promos by the Stable & The Armstrongs.
