Loser Leaves Town for the USWA Tag Titles: "Maniac" Matt Borne & Jeff Jarrett © vs. Sheik Braddock & "Rotten" Ron Starr (10/6/89) The faces start strong early as they get some nearfalls trying to win this quickly. I liked the standoff between Borne & Starr where both men took one strap down trying to show up the other one with Borne sending Starr to the floor. Jarrett would eventually work FIP with Starr really working him over including using a tombstone piledriver with Lowrance selling it like death but Jarrett would kick out. Braddock would continue the attack with help from Starr in the corner although they botch a double clothesline as Braddock wouldn't grab Starr's hand so Starr just held Braddock's wrist during the clothesline. Borne would finally get the hot tag and the brawl was on but Akbar would jump on the apron to distact Borne although Starr would hit Akbar. Borne would get an O'Connor Roll on Starr but Starr would reverse it with the tights to send Borne packing. Starr would then use Akbar's lit cigar on Borne's face for good measure as he has to leave town. Billy Joe Travis vs. Tony Falk (10/6/89) Travis comes out wearing sunglasses pretending he is blind and he is fucking awesome here as a heel playing to the female fans. Falk is trying to defend the honor of his best friend Embry but Travis is too much for Falk using some great punches and being a prick. This is a total squash. Akbar & Punisher then cuts a promo talking about Devastation Inc.'s greatness. Then we get a FUCKING FANTASTIC promo with Devastation Inc. impersonating the blind Embry, Travis singing Lean On Me & We Are Family, and best yet Tojo saying that Embry is going to get cancer. Slam dunk extra. Embry then sends in a taped promo with a patch over his eye and he vows vengeance on Travis. "Gentleman" Chris Adams & "Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich vs. The Punisher (Undertaker) & Tarras Bulba (10/6/89) Akbar saying that Buddy Roberts told him that Adams was from Biloxi, Mississippi was hilarious. Kerry gets worked over early but would get sick of that so he took Bulba to the back door and threw him through it thus setting off a 4-way brawl on the floor that would see Kerry & Bulba brawl out into the parking lot a little bit before going back to the ring. Kerry is strutting around and acting off all together so he must've been buzzed up on something for sure. We would get another battle of the claws but the Punisher would break it up before Adams would tag in to play FIP. Kerry would get the hot tag and started throwing discus punches on the Punisher before the 4-way brawl would get going. Kerry smashes the Punisher's head on the table before Adams would follow up with a chairshot as Kerry & Bulba brawl in the ring with Kerry getting a flash inside cradle on Bulba to win. I thought this was a lot of fun and had some good action with some Kerry wackiness. I'm throwing this on the block.
