Estrada takes some of his legendary career shortening bumps, including totally wiping out on a dive. Similar to the previous match, although not as transcendent. Mid range nomination. August 7, 201312 yr comment_5555251 Atlantis/Lizmark/Popitekus vs. Emilio Charles Jr./Jerry Estrada/Pierroth (September 1989) Damn the tecnicos look great in the 1st fall as they fly around with the rudos bumping their asses off making them look good. Even Pierroth was movin and groovin here. Estrada was a horse here flying in and out of the ring before the rudos were able to make their comeback as they dominated Popi before Pierroth took out Lizmark to tie it up. The 3rd fall saw some very fun back and forth action with Estrada again showing his craziness as he totally misses Popi on a tope con hilo and hits all floor so Atlantis shows him how it's done hitting a sweet running tope con hilo on Emilio while Lizmark wipes out Pierroth with a Liger Bomb to win the match. Another damn good match and a solid nomination to me.
August 13, 201312 yr comment_5556033 Solid first fall with Popetikus not sucking like he did in the 5/28 match. His interactions with Estrada were the highlight of the 1st fall. However, the other 4 were not as strong as the Dandy/Ulises crew. 2nd fall, Atlantis-Estrada section was sweet. Estrada is taking some nasty spills to the outside this match. Fuck, Estrada gets his revenge and kills Pop dead with a senton splash. He just lands flat on the fat boy. Fuck. 3rd fall had some good action mainly outside the ring with a sick tope from Estrada that completely missed Pop. Estrada is killing himself in this match. Lizmark River Plunge finishes for the technicos. I enjoyed this match but it made me want to see a singles match between Popetikus and Estrada more than it had me marking over the match as a whole. I can only give this a weak low-end nomination and this isn't set in stone by any means. The dilemma is that this had the better Popi performance than the 5/28 match but the 5/28 match was far better.
