We celebrate the first episode of USWA Texas with a great long Southern tag match. Frank Dusek comes out in the babyfaces' corner after having been fired by Akbar during the final weeks of the World Class era. Jarrett and Foley have really good exchanges throughout the match. Their early stuff with the faces in control had a fun bit where Jarrett leapfrogged Cactus twice while running the ropes, and then Cactus tried to do the same, only for Jarrett to stop short the second time and dropkick him in the back. Jarrett does the flip out of the Rocker Dropper position that so many smallish babyfaces of the age did for some reason, but flips on a bit of a different axis, which looked kinda neat, and ate a big clothesline from Cactus when he landed to transition to the FIP segment. He eats a great beating from Cactus - including the "Consequences", which was apparently the proper name for the Hipbuster elbowdrop - and to a lesser extent from Braddock, who looks more awkward than bad here. The heels seemingly score the win, but Dusek hits the ring to show ref Tony Falk that Jarrett had his foot on the ropes, so Falk restarts it to the dismay of the heels. Great hot tag segment as Cactus tries to drop the Consequences on Jarrett again, but Jarrett moves and Cactus gets splattered on the concrete even more so than usual, and then Jarrett slowly crawls back in to his corner with Cactus slowly crawling back in after him, but Jarrett makes it in time. Borne cleans house, ultimately hitting his swank German suplex on Cactus for the win and the belts. Dusek gets in the ring to celebrate with them, which is a nice feel-good moment. Nomination.

Early on, the interaction with Jarrett and Cactus was all good. The faces work on Braddock's arm but it was unremarkable. However. Jarrett and Cactus have another round and this time Cactus is in control. Good stuff. I wasn't really impressed with Borne or Braddock and it was sort of the tale of two matches. Solid gold with JJ and Jack and medicrity when Braddock was in. No vote.

Borne working in pink gym shorts is wild. Jarrett & Cactus were solid together but other than that the match wasn't that great and I'm with Will on a no vote.
