Ciclon Ramierez/ Hurrican Ramirez/Super Mueneco v. Emilo Charles Jr,/Pirata Morgan/Hombre Bala

Really great rudo team and pretty good technico team, lots of pretty good moments, Emilio Charles is shockingly athletic dued. Still finish fell a bit flat and I think this is slightly below a selection

Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000/Universo 2000 v. Masakre/Satanico/MS1

Disappointing match, looks absolutely epic on paper, but this was clearly a set up to a bigger match. Basically six rudos punching and kicking each other, all the punches and kicks looked great, but this had a gear it didn’t get to.

Rick Patterson/Falbouloso Blonde/Mike Stone v. Texano/ Konan/Lizmark

Konan showcase. He had some cool spots, but this was a nothing match

Ciclon Rameirez/Atlantis/Blue Demon Jr. v. Emilio Charles Jr./Pirata Morgan/Pierroth Jr. 3/19/89

Similar to the first match, great rudo team, solid techinco team. This is on the nomination side of the line, while the first match just misses. Finish was better, bumps were a bit bigger, and this had Atlantis who was just incredible in the 80’s/. Solid lowish nom.

Super Halcon/Satanico/Masakre v. El Texano/Lizmark/Rayo De Jalisco Jr. 3/19/89

First fall was solid, but it started getting really good in the second and third. Texano and Satanico have some really electric exchanges in the segunda, both guys are so great and the work really well together. Third fall has some super intense punch exchanges between Lizmark and Masakre and especially Rayo and Halcon who just go after each other. Ripping masks and windmilling punches. Good match with parts of it going all the way to great.

Rick Patterson/Falbouloso Blonde/Mike Stone v. Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000/Universo 2000

Mostly shtick, semi amusing shtick, but nothing worth a set.

Ciclon Ramierez/ Hurrican Ramirez/Super Mueneco v. Emilo Charles Jr,/Pirata Morgan/Hombre Bala

Here's another heaping helping of Pirata Morgan beating the shit out of people. I really never tire of this. This isn't the greatest beating he's ever lain on a group of technicos, but it's a pretty hard thing to screw up. Hombre Bala provides ample support. He and Pirata bust out the awesome two-person proto-Go 2 Sleep on Ciclon Ramirez near the end of the first fall, and then Bala just flapjacks Ciclon clear out of the ring right afterwords. Ciclon eats a ton of punishment here and looks great doing so. Hurrican, meanwhile is probably the most offensively dynamic guy on his team, throwing some pretty armdrags and having Ciclon back body drop him over the top rope onto Emilio on the floor. He also eats a nasty somersault senton and a piledriver from Pirata down the stretch, because apparently, Pirata Morgan hates his guts. The main contribution of Mueneco and Emilio comes near the end when Mueneco has Pirata in a scorpion deathlock, and Emilio jumps in front of him and starts mocking his "lolling his head around" zany comedy bit, so Mueneco releases the hold and punches Emilio in the face. I'm not sure why Emilio thought that was a good idea, but I was amused nonetheless. Phil thought the finish was flat, but the finish was Pirata clearing Mueneco out of the ring so Bala could tap Ciclon was a scorpion deathlock variant while Emilio crushed Hurrican with a top rope splash, and then they all went outside and mercilessly kicked the shit out of Super Mueneco for a while, so I can't really hate on that. Solid nomination.

Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000/Universo 2000 v. Masakre/Satanico/MS1

I really wanted to like this more than I did, but it was pretty lackluster.

Rick Patterson/Falbouloso Blonde/Mike Stone v. Texano/ Konan/Lizmark

Well, we all know how great Konnan is, so naturally, I was totally psyched to watch green Konnan. Actually, that's not really fair, partly because Konnan had been wrestling for two years by this point, thus making his greenness negligible, but also because he looked OK here. This match nicely supports Bix's claim elsewhere on the board that Konnan could go a little when he had to prove something to management. If nothing else, the Ziplock w/ flexing >>>>>> the Tequila Sunrise. Also, Lizmark brought the fire here, possibly because he foresaw that one of his partners would go on to become one the shittiest wrestlers of all time. So yeah, way more fun than I expected, but still pretty far removed from a nomination.

Ciclon Rameirez/Atlantis/Blue Demon Jr. v. Emilio Charles Jr./Pirata Morgan/Pierroth Jr. 3/19/89

I agree with Phil, but I pose a perhaps immaterial question: is this the same match these teams had on EMLL 1989 Vol 1 Disc #2/Bob's 80's #1? Because it's the same lineup, my write-up of that match from C+A Pirata was very similar to this match, particularly the finish, but we both passed on it on those discs. I can't find the stack that had that disc at the moment, but I think it might be the same match. I'm seconding the nomination either way, but it struck me as odd since it may be a match we had written off before.

Super Halcon/Satanico/Masakre v. El Texano/Lizmark/Rayo De Jalisco Jr. 3/19/89

It is not hard to sell me on Satanico wrecking people's shit. This started out as a good match, and grew very nicely into a great one, with the brawling in the third fall being spectacular. Seconded.

Rick Patterson/Falbouloso Blonde/Mike Stone v. Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000/Universo 2000

This wasn't even particularly good shtick. No thank you.

Going with what I haven't seen.

Masakre/Satanico/Super Halcon vs. Lizmark/Rayo de Jalisco Jr./El Texano (3/17/89)

Very fun rudo beatdown in the 1st fall as Satanico was extra chippy here while Rayo & Halcon were still beefing heavy. Lizmark got bulldozed while Texano got stretched. Texano came back in the 2nd fall and really went hard after Satanico resulting in some awesome exchanges including Texano going all Backlund with a crossface chickenwing on Satanico. Rayo & Halcon had some heated exchanges also which was nice. Lizmark & Masakre come alive in the 3rd fall and have a really fun punching parade while Rayo & Halcon are ripping each other's masks violently. The stretch run featured more fun brawling and this is a solid nomination.

Los Hermanos Dinamita (Cien Caras/Mascara Ano Dos Mil/Universo Dos Mil) vs. Fabuloso Blondy/Rick Patterson/Mike Stone (3/17/89)

Not very good.
