Posted April 9, 201015 yr comment_5449225 Lance is out for revenge after Buzz screwed up his back a while ago, and he takes out his frustrations on Buzz's arm. Buzz is great goofing around for Lance early on and takes a great long beating from him, as well as hitting a nasty missed corner charge into the ringpost. He turns the tide, chucking Lance to the outside and hitting a suplex on the floor, staarting his work on the injured back. Lance fights back, but gets clobbered with the chain while the ref isn't looking. However, the ref does see that the chain is still in the ring and that Lance is suddenly out cold, and putting two and two together, gives the match to Lance via DQ. This doesn't sit well with Buzz, who keeps going after Lance with the chain. Dingo Warrior attempts a save and is is initially foiled, but ultimately (no pun intended) is able to drive off the heels. Nomination.
June 10, 201015 yr comment_5451818 Lance Von Erich vs. Buzz Sawyer WCCW 12/12, 12/17/86 - Nice work out of the armbar early on as Buzz is keeping it active and Lance is looking pretty good. However, there is a strong resemblance in structure to the Adams match. Lance keeps it interesting though stepping on Buzz’s head while holding on to the armbar. The big difference between this and the Youngblood match or 20 minute draw is the lack of inactivity. Buzz throws Lance outside and hits a suplex on concrete to gain control. Lance sells the back and of course Buzz locks on the bearhug. Big comeback sequence from Lance and Buzz gets DQed after Percy distracts the ref but not enough to see Buzz nail Lance with the cane. This was like the Cliff’s Notes version of the Adams match. I liked the match and would have put it on as an example of a good Lance Von Erich match but the Adams match was leagues better. I don't think this will upset anyone if we leave this off.
June 21, 201015 yr comment_5452194 Lance Von Erich vs. "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer (11/29/86) I agree with Will in that this match was called very similarly to the Adams match for sure other than they weren't going that long and Lance is no Chris Adams. Bill Mercer calling Sawyer the "Buzzy Man" was so ridiculous I felt like turning the match off. Buzz works on Lance's back when he starts on offense just like the Adams match with everything looking so similar. Lance made a good comeback hitting a really nice dropkick off the top rope before Percy would get involved allowing Buzz to get his chain to use it for the DQ. This was a way lesser version of the Adams match and not a nomination.
