Posted April 12, 201015 yr comment_5449402 This is the third time I've seen these teams match up, and it is definitely the best. Not as much comedy from the Super D's as I usually like, though there is a great bit near the end where Kerry gives them the double noggin-knocker ad Super D #2 ends up staggering headfirst into one of the turnbuckles. Still, there is some quality offense being dished out here, with the faces controlling the first half and the Super Ds taking the second half. No real extended FIP sections, more of an inability for Kerry and Iceman to overtake the Super Ds for very long, which makes the sudden finish of Iceman ducking a double clothesline and hitting one Super D with the Butt Butt as he comes back off the ropes while Kerry pins the other one with a flying crossbody seem very appropriate. Also have to give props to Super Destroyer #1 for busting out one of the coolest looking side slams ever. I guess you would have to call it a forward slam, as he holds Iceman in side slam position, but in front of him, and he falls forward. Never seen that before. Nomination.
June 14, 201015 yr comment_5451971 Kerry Von Erich & Iceman King Parsons vs. The Super Destroyers Legends of WCCW 8/10, 8/22/88 - The faces spend a lot of time getting the best of the Destroyers early on. The offense is solid and the match certainly was never boring but I was waiting for something to stand out, to distinguish it from the hundreds of other tags I have watched. The ending was pretty fun with Ice hitting the bump as Kerry hits the flying body press for the win but I can’t see anyone fighting to keep this on the set.
June 21, 201015 yr comment_5452196 Iceman King Parsons & "Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich vs. The Super Destroyers (Wild Bill & Scott Irwin) (3/16/84) I loved the Iceman bodyslam counter as he was on his way down but dropped Super D #2 on his head while maintaining an armbar. Iceman was fired up here throwing great punches while Kerry was great as usual working as an FIP before Iceman got his chance and did it just as good. Kerry would come in blazing as the crowd went nuts throwing punches before the 4-way brawl broke out. Kerry would get tossed to the floor so Iceman was double teamed but Kerry would climb up top and hit Super D #2 with a cross body block as Iceman hit the Butt Butt on Super D #1 for the win. This would fall off before the final set is made but still a fun match so no nomination.
