Posted April 22, 201015 yr comment_5449801 We've learned from previous sets that the voters are fine with short, hot matches. So I see no reason not to nominate this, even though it consisted of just two simple sections. Basically, Ole did a hell of a job working Tenryu's arm until Tenryu rallied with all of his signature, violent offense. I loved Tenryu's adjustment on his top-rope elbow so that he hit Ole in the middle of the forehead even as Ole tried to roll away. This was the best Ole singles match I've ever seen, and I'll push it forward for now. All Japan Classics 126
April 22, 201015 yr comment_5449803 Genichiro Tenryu vs. Ole Anderson (4/5/86) - This is classic Ole Anderson just destroying Tenryu’s arm. He rams the arm into the turnbuckle. He takes him outside and rams it into the ringpost. He throws Tenryu over a table and starts smashing it with a chair. When Tenryu makes a comeback, he even gets Ole to take a face first bump off an enziguiri. This sets up the Tenryu powerbomb. Damn, this was short but so great. If I ever make an Ole Anderson comp, or my postponed Tenryu comp, this goes on there. After reading my thoughts, second the nomination and it might be a match Phil should consider for the current Schneider comp. I'll send it to him.
May 8, 201015 yr comment_5450575 Yeah this should go on the set, I am a bigger Ole fan then most, but this was right behind the Starcade Russians tag as the best Ole performances I have seen (man I wish we had more classic Anderson brothers), I loved how Tenryu had to crawl over the table to avoid Ole smashing his arm, and when he came back he let him have it. Great shit, I wish they had a million rematches
September 7, 201015 yr comment_5455390 I forgot to give a review for this one when I watched it before but I agree with the nomination as Ole was a vicious bastard and Tenryu was great as the opponent.
