Jumbo retaliated by almost throwing him through the mat, and Tenryu hit him with as hard a chop as I've ever seen. I mean, the crowd let out a sickened ooh at impact. Anyway, the match continued at a decent clip with Yatsu trying to show he could be the top guy on a team after years of being second banana. He worked toward his leg submission again, and though I'm not a fan of it, at least the top guys sold it. Tenryu took steam out of the match by beating Nakano with a sort of casual power bomb. This isn't something I'd go to the wall for, but I liked it enough that you guys should at least take a look. 2. Tenyru/Hara vs. Yatsu/Nakano (06/09/87) - Another surprisingly entertaining effort from the Yatsu/Nakano pairing. I'm digging Nakano as a guy who gets his ass kicked only to fire back with more imapctful offense than you might expect. Shit, his enzuigiri looked a lot better than Tenryu's. This was also my first look at the newly formed Tenryu/Hara team and they certainly brought out the surly, violent bastard in one another. I didn't have high expectations based on the listing, but I kept looking up and thinking, "Damn, they're beating the shit out fo each other." Again, Tenryu won a little casually for my taste. But this is another one that you guys should at least watch. 3. Road Warriors vs. Jumbo/Wajima (06/09/87) - Formula outing from the Roadies. After the opening melee, they took most of the offense, allowed the natives a brief rally and then won by countout with a piledriver on the floor. It was a fine formula, but with Wajima in for Tenryu, didn't produce a noteworthy match. 4. RW Animal vs. Hiroshi Wajima (06/11/87) - Nothing match.
September 9, 201015 yr comment_5455485 Genichiro Tenryu & Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Shinichi Nakano & Yoshiaki Yatsu (4/23/87) Choshu left All-Japan almost 2 months earlier so Yatsu was leading the charges and young Nakano was definitely motivated here as after eating a great looking shoulderbreaker by Tenryu, he fired back with a backdrop suplex. Nakano then tries slapping Tenryu in the chest so Tenryu fires back with a hard ass chop sending Nakano right to the mat. Yatsu sees this and tries slapping Jumbo around so he paintbrushes him in retort and the crowd is loving this. Nakano then wants some of Jumbo so he slaps him around until Jumbo just throws him to the mat with one hand then kills him with a high knee. Nakano is a spunky little fuck as he keeps slapping Jumbo with Jumbo just pounding him in retort forcing Yatsu to take up for his partner. Yatsu would finally get Jumbo in the PRISON LOCK who again sells it like death and the crowd is going nuts before Nakano comes in to work a half crab. The legwork would continue until Jumbo would get the tag to Tenryu but Nakano caught Tenryu with a big running lariat. Nakano would have Tenryu on the ropes before missing a missile dropkick then eating a powerbomb to end the match. This was a blast and moves forward easily with Nakano being great as the catalyst. Revolution (Ashura Hara & Genichiro Tenryu) vs. Shinichi Nakano & Yoshiaki Yatsu (6/9/87) THE REVOLUTION IS ALIVE and they are total asskickers here with Nakano being an awesome opponent for them. Nakano fires back as usual and is hitting just as hard as the vets which was awesome. Yatsu also is feeling it and we get some good stuff out of him as well. Hara was rejuvenated with Tenryu and you can tell it immediately as he was glad to get away from Rusher & Goro. Like I said this had a lot of hard hitting action with both teams looking good especially Nakano who Budokan was loving here. Tenryu would finish off Nakano with a powerbomb again and this moves forward easily. NWA International Tag Titles: The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) © vs. Jumbo Tsuruta & Hiroshi Wajima (6/9/87) This was fine for what it was but Wajima is no Tenryu that's for sure. Road Warrior Animal vs. Hiroshi Wajima (6/11/87) Not good.
