They spent most of this one abusing Sonoda, who was actually kind of fun as a sleazy, chubby little guy who bounced around a lot. It didn't build into something that we'd put on the set, but I was entertained. 5. Stan Hansen & Ted Dibiase vs. Tenyru & Ashura Hara (PWF Tag Title, 07/23/87) - I saw this listing and thought, "mayhem and violence." Sure enough, that's what these teams delivered. They did a lot of crazy brawling around ringside. Hansen took a huge amount of punishment, bleeding like a slaughtered steer. They produced a rare cool double countout here. Hara held Hansen up for Tenryu's lariat, but Hansen ducked out of the way and Tenryu annihilated his partner. Then Hansen whipped around and dropped Tenryu with the western lariat. And they were all dead like characters from a Shakespearean tragedy. They delivered enough crazy fun to pull a nomination. 6. Tenyru & Ashura Hara vs. Giant Baba & Tiger Mask (07/30/87) - Tenryu tried to show his rebel cool by stiffing the boss but lo and behold, the old man fired back with some big shots of his own. If they had developed that storyline more, this could have turned into a setworthy match. But instead, all the natives who had been wronged by Tenryu poured into the ring in search of retribution and it went clusterfuck. This could be an extra if we do a package of stuff on Tenryu's turn.
September 11, 201015 yr comment_5455527 Revolution (Ashura Hara & Genichiro Tenryu) vs. Haru Sonoda & Yoshiaki Yatsu (10/31/87) This is one of Sonoda's last matches as he would die in a plane crash less than a month later. Sonoda just gets his ass beat here and Yatsu takes some punishment as well but he gives some out as well. This match was all about Revolution being surly cocksuckers though and nothing else. Fun stuff but not a nomination. PWF Tag Titles: Ted DiBiase & Stan "The Lariat" Hansen © vs. Revolution (Ashura Hara & Genichiro Tenryu) (7/23/87) DiBiase now has his ribs taped so that is a target. Hot damn Hansen & Tenryu chopping the shit out of each other to start the match set the pace as it would evolve into both teams just kicking ass but there wasn't much crowd heat going on here which sucked because the action was fierce. Hansen would juice after some wild brawling on the floor and Revolution took it to him before we had the wild finish which looked like a fuckin car crash for a double countout. This was simply awesome and a definite nomination. Revolution (Ashura Hara & Genichiro Tenryu) vs. Giant Baba & Tiger Mask II (7/30/87) The story here is that Tenryu wants to beat up Baba to show him that he isn't his boss anymore by slapping him while he stands on the apron then when Baba tags in there is hardly any heat. This crowd sucked a dick for every match on this show. Tenryu chops Baba hard so Baba fires back with shots of his own and this was fun. TM fires some hard kicks on Hara as well so he answers back with a hard backdrop suplex which was nice. This was moving along well featuring some fun spots such as Tenryu suplexing Tiger on the ringside table before Jumbo & Wajima would run out to attack the heels which was wild. Jumbo nuked Tenryu with a lariat before Yatsu would show up to help as well leading to some confusion on Jumbo & Wajima's part. This was a fun ending and yeah this should be part of the extra package on Tenryu's turn.
