The Nasty Boys spent much of the time brawling with Kabuki. Then, Takano took a hot tag and hit some nice dropkicks before falling victim to a top-rope elbow that ended it. This didn't stand out enough for a nomination, but I'm not sure these four could've done a whole lot better, 2- Davey Boy Smith/Dynamite Kid/Kenta Kobashi vs. Doug Furnas/Dan Kroffat/Masa Fuchi (20:22, 11/19/89) - Interesting teams, here. Actually, you had three perfect match-ups -- Dynamite and Fuchi in a battle of mean-spirited little guys, Kobashi and Kroffat in a battle of super-athletic middleweights and Furnas and Davey in a battle of powerhouses. It didn't cohere into a great match but they produced a long string of nifty episodes. You had Dynamite whipping Kroffat through the guardrail and snap suplexing him on concrete. You had Furnas and Davey hitting simultaneous press slams in a kind of dick-swinging contest, You had Davey dead lifting Fuchi out of an armlock and holding him up for a missile dropkick from Kobashi. You had Fuchi punching Dynamite in the nose and landing enzuigiris right to his grill. It all added up to enough fun that you guys should take a look. I could see some folks shitting on this and some absolutely loving it, and I like putting divisive matches on these sets. 3- Stan Hansen & Genichiro Tenryu vs. Terry Gordy & Bill Irwin (Real World Tag League match, 14:07, 11/19/89) - This started crazily with Irwin and Hansen trying to lash each other with bullwhips. And somebody was kicking somebody else's ass the entire way. You might worry that Irwin was out of his depth, but he actually did a great job pinballing around for Tenryu and Hansen's ultraviolent offense. The crowd was also hot to see ex-partners Gordy and Hansen go at it. The ending ruled. Gordy took out Tenryu as he attempted a powerbomb on Irwin and left Irwin sitting on Tenryu's chest. But as the ref chastised Gordy, Hansen stepped in and hit a western lariat on Irwin, allowing a groggy Tenryu to roll him up for the win. I had minimal expectations for this but enjoyed every minute. Nomination.

The Can-Am Express (Doug Furnas & Dan Kroffat) & Masa Fuchi vs. The British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith) & Kenta Kobashi (11/19/89) Korakuen was very pro Dynamite here. I agree with Childs here on the matchups analogy and it makes a good bit of sense especially Davey & Furnas and this starts out with all 3 matching up against each other in a contest to see who could get the edge but it would even out. I loved Kobashi using the Canadian Backbreaker on Kroffat which pissed off Furnas enough he had to attack him. The press slam contest between Davey & Furnas was great ending up with them talking shit on each other before Fuchi just dropkicks the piss out of Davey. DK looks pretty good here even breaking out the diving headbutt to the floor on Kroffat then throwing him so fucking hard into the railing it broke followed up by a snap suplex. The next great spot was Davey picking up Fuchi who had him in an armlock high in the air so Kobashi could hit a missile dropkick off the top rope. Fuchi would eat more abuse but would end up drilling DK with enzuigiris then punching him right in the face until it broke down into a 6-way brawl with Fuchi eating the double-team slam off the middle rope with Davey getting the win. This had enough good action and overall being fun as hell to be a nomination. Real World Tag League: Stan "The Lariat" Hansen & Genichiro Tenryu vs. Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy & Wild Bill Irwin (11/19/89) Holy shit was this start awesome as you had Gordy take on Irwin as his new partner with a bullwhip and Hansen is pissed about it so he & Irwin go to fucking war on the floor before it goes back to the ring where the match was basically everybody beating each other's ass and Irwin hanging right with the big guns. Korakuen popped big for Irwin's bicycle kick which I loved. Gordy & Hansen going at it was awesome because they were such a good team and the fans wanted to see them go at it although it wasn't as nearly as hot as when Brody & Hansen went at it 2 years earlier. The finish was great with Gordy flipping Irwin over as Tenryu had him up for a powerbomb then Hansen just nailing Irwin with a lariat as he was sitting on Tenryu's chest. This was very fun and moves forward easily.
