Giant Baba/Hiroshi Wajima vs. Stan Hansen/Terry Gordy (7:39/16:56) This was a whole bunch of fun while it lasts with Wajima taking a nasty beating from Hansen and Gordy bumping ridiculously huge for Baba. Like, crazy huge. Fun, but not enough to nominate. 2. Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Abdullah the Butcher/TNT (7:53) This was really fun and a great sprint. Hara is a real star in this one with great uppercuts, huge bumps, really leaning into Abby’s shoulderblocks. Tenryu blasts TNT with a great lariat, Abby hits great uppercuts and does karate posing. I’m nominating this one baby! NOMINATE! 3. Jumbo Tsuruta/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara (17:52/30:00) This is a really awesome sprint and just tons of hard clotheslines, big knees, near falls and too much fun. Hara is a real revelation to me, and all the others are really fun here as well, doing their usual thing. Jumbo takes the kneepad down to hit some big knees, Tenryu lariats people in the neck, this is rad. NOMINATE! 12/12/87 (12/13/87) 1. Terry/Dory Funk Jr. vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara (8:52/23:46) This was pretty fun but Dory was just a total goober in this. Terry was stumbling around and Hara was taking big bumps into chairs but Dory is just a stiff goon here. Not violent stiff, just bumping like a guy who is learning his first flat back bump. Drags everything down. Makes every move done to him look like it has no impact at all. Tenryu/Hara have been a real good team, but Dory just kills this match. Terry had a bunch of fun stumbling bumps, though. 2. Abdullah the Butcher/TNT vs. Tom Zenk/The Terminator (4:42/6:20) Boy, not sure who the Terminator is here but he…is…not…good. TNT bleeds and Abby stiffs the shit out of Terminator and Zenk throws a nice dropkick…but this ain’t much. 3. Stan Hansen/Terry Gordy vs. Rusher Kimura/Goro Tsurumi (10:00) This was pretty fun but doesn’t really go anywhere. Nothing bad, but nothing too special. 4. Hiroshi Wajima/Giant Baba vs. Bruiser Brody/Jimmy Snuka (9:26) This was worked at half speed and didn’t get good until the final 30 seconds. Brody boots Baba hard in the face (and Baba leans in like a weird freaky champ!) and Brody hits a big knee off the top. Up until that point he made Wajima’s offense look like garbage and made tard faces.
