Hara is a real star in this one with great uppercuts, huge bumps, really leaning into Abby’s shoulderblocks. Tenryu blasts TNT with a great lariat, Abby hits great uppercuts and does karate posing. May 22, 201015 yr comment_5451122 Date on this one according to Classics is 12/2/87. I enjoyed the match for a lot of the reasons Eric mentioned. The Abby/TNT team was lot of fun throughout its mini-run, and Hara turned in an excellent dual performance, kicking the shit out of TNT and eating a beating from Abby. But an eight-minute match has to feature some real mayhem or a super standout moment to make this set. This one didn't jump over that bar for me. All Japan Classics 158
June 21, 201015 yr comment_5452206 Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Abdullah the Butcher/TNT, 12/5/87 (AJC 158) - Both teams working really well early on. Clearly, Tenryu and Abby are the aces and when Hara and Savio are in, they get destroyed by the aces. Weird back bump by Savio on the enziguiri. Oh Christ, Hara’s powerbomb on Savio almost turned into a Ganso Bomb. Thankfully, Tenryu tags in and shows him the proper way to execute one. Good solid tag but nothing that will really stand out. I remember the one I nominated being more action packed although that was a couple of years ago. I’ll have to revisit that match but no vote from me on this one.
September 15, 201015 yr comment_5455644 Real World Tag League: Revolution (Ashura Hara & Genichiro Tenryu) vs. Abdullah the Butcher & TNT (12/2/87) We get the normal Abby schtick with TNT taking the punishment but Abby does some bumping here as well as Tenryu gets a bodyslam on him. Hara hits maybe the worst powerbomb ever on TNT here as he just lays him on the mat softly. Tenryu would fire back with one of his own though that was better to get the win. This wasn't really good.
