Posted May 23, 201015 yr comment_5451143 This starts with Cornette cutting a promo talking about how he has been training with Richard Simmons in preparation for his upcoming match with Sunshine. 2 out of 3 falls: Cowboy Scott Casey vs. "The Crippler" Rip Oliver (6/17/85) Sunshine is all decked out in leather and looks like she was ready to put a choker on Cornette and drag him around the ring while he barks like a dog. Nothing much to the first fall other than Cornette finally grabbing his green jacket and trying to get away before Casey takes it from him on the floor. Oliver would take the first fall that was slow paced and dull. Oliver would choke Casey with a cord in the second fall and had control but Casey would sneak in an inside cradle to even the falls. Oliver really liked working his taped thumb gimmick here building most of his offense around it so Casey would finally realize this and started stomping on it. Cornette eventually threw the racket to Oliver who was caught using it for the DQ. Nothing to this at all. The Dynamic Duo then comes out for a promo where they talk about how great they are featuring Adams burying Elvis for being a drug addict while praising Paul McCartney & Mick Jagger. Good stuff of course. Kevin Von Erich vs. "Gentleman" Chris Adams (6/17/85) This started out with Kevin controlling early using his normal mat repetoire which was good but Adams changed the pace by nailing Kevin with a Superkick as Kevin was trying to reenter the ring from the floor. Kevin would fight back though hitting a dropkick off the second rope before going for the iron claw but Adams would fight that off in the ropes but Kevin would miss a running splash into the corner thus sending himself to the floor. Adams then hit Kevin with another Superkick as he tried to enter the ring before missing with his own running splash tumbling over the ropes. Adams would get a nearfall after a sunset flip but Kevin would get the best of him though with a schoolboy to win the match. This was one of the lesser matches between these two and not a nomination. Bobby Fulton vs. "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey (6/17/85) Marc Lowrance saying that Midnight Express theme (Rush by Giorgio Moroder) sounded like music from a naughty movie is hilarious. I hated World Class' booking of these teams especially the MX as in they put them in way too many singles matches. Fulton comes out with taped ribs so I guess that's a story here. Gino would come out wanting his match with Kerry to be shown on TV to show everyone that the Von Erichs can be beat. Fulton dominates the early match as Condrey tries to work the ribs but Fulton keeps him at bay with punches in between Condrey's stalling tactics. Condrey would soon take over and with some help from Corny on the floor, he worked over Fulton's ribs with Tommy Rogers coming out to counter Corny on the floor. TV time would run out though before the end of the match. "The Crippler" Rip Oliver vs. Bobby Fulton (6/14/85) Another slow plodding match with Oliver who stalls and stalls making Austin Idol jealous but at least Austin was charismatic with his stalling. Fulton was good here selling his injured ribs which Oliver started to work on when he got control which wasn't long before Fulton made his comeback. Cornette would trip up Fulton on the ropes though allowing Oliver to hit Fulton with his dreaded taped thumb to the ribs to get the pin. Nothing match. Then we get a promo by Gary Hart & Killer Brooks who rolls in on his motorcycle in the streets of Dallas which featured some dude pulling over in his truck to give Gary a shoutout and Brooks covering himself in muddy water. Cowboy Scott Casey vs. "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton (6/14/85) This had a good pace with both men working hard trying to get pinfalls but it wouldn't really pick up until Eaton tried to get the green jacket to Corny which would bring out Bobby Fulton to assist Sunshine at ringside. Eaton would work over Casey relentlessly trying to get the pin with the fans really hot for Casey to make a comeback. Casey would start making his comeback but Corny would put his tennis racket in Casey's back before Fulton would attack Corny allowing Eaton to get schoolboyed by Casey for the win. This was the best match I've seen so far on this disc but still far from a nomination although Eaton was really good. Then we go back to 11/26/84 with Terry Gordy cutting a promo about getting rid of Devastation Inc. 2 out of 3 falls: The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. The Pretty Young Things (Norvell Austin & Koko Ware) (11/26/84) There is some clipping here as we got about 2 minutes of a 12 minute first fall with Fulton getting an inside cradle on Norvell to get the win. Rogers would then get the 2nd fall win over Ware in 1:37. PYT's got buried here. Next we get a promo by Gino, Jake, & Nickla Roberts talking about their current feuds with Jake especially being great talking about Billy Jack. Akbar then follows to hype up a cage match with Gordy & Khan. Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy vs. The Missing Link (11/26/84) Again there is some clipping here early but it doesn't look like much as Gordy pounds on Link. This was a short back and forth brawl leading to Gordy putting on the Oriental Spike on the Link which would bring in Akbar who tried to throw a fireball at Gordy who moved for the DQ. Fun while it lasted. Texas Tornado Match: The Dynamic Duo ("Gentleman" Chris Adams & "Handsome Halfbreed" Gino Hernandez) vs. Kerry & Mike Von Erich (11/26/84) This was a brawl at the bell with everyone going at it which is what you would expect but of course Mike is in here and everything he does is awkward. TV time would run out before the end of the match. Next we get clips of the Gordy/Khan Texas Death match from Reunion.
May 23, 201015 yr comment_5451156 I looked through and didn't see that number on my set of discs. Use the name I wrote on the discs.
May 23, 201015 yr Author comment_5451167 It says Fort Worth 1984-85 so I had to go to the McAdam list to get the exact matchlist.
