Posted May 23, 201015 yr comment_5451182 Decision Match for the vacant American Tag Titles: The Dynamic Duo ("Gentleman" Chris Adams & "Handsome Halfbreed" Gino Hernandez) vs. Kerry & Kevin Von Erich (10/28/85) Both Von Erich's wanted the masks early and failed so they went to a normal match pace. Kerry works FIP until he reverses an abdominable stretch where he goes for Adams' mask which brought in Kevin & Gino but he would eventually get the tag to Kevin who works over Adams but Gino would interfere often. Kevin would get worked over by the Duo forcing Kerry in who hit a beautiful discus punch on Adams who went flying over the top rope to the floor. Adams would go for a piledriver on Kevin but Kevin used his feet to slap Adams in the head to get free to make the tag to Kerry who almost killed Adams with a flying headscissors landing right on his head. Adams would grab Kerry and threw him through the ropes and to the floor with Kevin coming over to protect Kerry from danger before Kerry would get back in the ring where he would tag Kevin who fires away on the masked men leading to a 4-way brawl that went to the floor with Kerry getting posted leaving Kevin alone with the Duo. Kevin would get the claw on Gino in the ropes and as they get broken up the switch gets made and Adams would hit a Superkick on Kevin to get the win. This was a fun match with lots of heat and all four men work hard here beating on each other. This goes on the block.
June 14, 201015 yr comment_5451960 Dynamic Duo vs. Kerry & Kevin Von Erich 10/28/85 (McAdam 84-85 FTW Disc 3) - This will be hard to watch because these two have so many good matches, deciding if it is one of the best is a daunting task. The Duo controls on Kerry early but they aren’t doing much with him. Kerry gets some hope in after winning a battle for the abdominal stretch. Kevin comes in and destroys the Duo. Things get a little sloppy when Kevin is in. A tree of woe doesn’t quite go as he planned it. Kerry gets a big tag and goes for the claw but is thrown out shortly after. However, Kevin protects his brother on the outside. Shit, he should have let him get his ass kicked. Good hot stretch ending with Kevin trying to set up the claw after an Irish Whip but getting superkicked for the Duo win. I liked this match but it is one of the least memorable matches in the feud. Also, you could have subbed in victory and Grappler and it wouldn’t have made much of a difference because they didn’t wrestle a violent fight.
June 26, 201015 yr comment_5452408 I like Victory and The Grappler, but the Dynamic Duo they weren't. Gino and Adams as the Dynamic Dinamitas have a somewhat different bent to their matches due to the focus on mask ripping. They don't work a wild and out-of-control brawl here for the most part, and I'm judging it with that in mind. And with that in mind, this is a great match...but not as great as their more wild, out-of-control brawls. I second the nomination, but I will add the caveat that if we decide we have more Von Erichs/Duo matches than we need and one of them has to go, it may be this one.
